Unusual stone combinations?

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you had this sort of experience, and if so, what stone combinations came to you...

I was drifting off to sleep the other night and all of a sudden I had a "flash" of two stones in my collection, a black tourmaline and a green aventurine wand...two pieces I haven't used in awhile and never together...and no idea why...

then a night or two later, the same thing happened, only this time it was a piece of gold calcite and a piece of lavender quartz...

So I am currently working with these stones, but it was an unusual experience (for me) as I ordinarily wouldn't think of putting these stones together so I am wondering what other combinations of stones others might use together and why...
