Hand Colored Deck received Used - Sacred?

Fulgour

Last year I was the high bidder on a 3 deck eBay auction
and one of the decks was a beautifully hand colored set
of 78 cards, and they are so well done...the love shows.

TAROT Builders of the Adytum B.O.T.A.

The box is very old, a brown one-piece box with a flap,
unlike the new set of cards I have, of the same design.

The other two decks were a beautiful early Aquarian,
and a Rider from the same period, so both early 70's.

I feel as if this B.O.T.A. deck belongs in a museum...
or a church, if that is the right word, a sacred home.

What can I do though? I keep them safely on a shelf,
but I feel like there should be a place, a homecoming.

Keep them safe, warm and dry as long as you can...and then pass them on with love to someone who you want to share your love of tarot with. :)

keep them out of the sunlight. NO sunlight

keep them in a cool dark cabinet, well ventilated

no excess heat - moisture and absolutely NO sunlight

I saw that Aquarian, very interesting early edition back, lots of nostalgia and very unique now. congrats!

Wow, this deck is fantastic. So beautiful...it indeed looks like it belongs in a sacred place...or in an old gypsy's wagon....

Well, it must be fragile, so keep it out of the sunlight and be careful with moisture. If you have a soft fabric to cover it, it might be a good idea since it keeps the dirt away better than an old box...not that you should throw the box away, keep the box too :D

I coloured mine, years ago. NOT as well as this. Indeed, I hated what I did so much I bought another and DIDN'T colour it ! :D

This came to me back in 2005, from Corpus Christi, Texas.
I don't know if B.O.T.A. has many members there or not...

Lillie

It looks old with those square corners.

Do you think there is any way to find out who coloured it?
Perhaps a BOTA member?
Does the colouring fit their scheme?

It's very lovely.
Is it done with pencils? The shading seems to suggest that.

no i meant the back of the aquarian deck you mentioned but never mind

my apologies, i'm losing my mind.
it's like Gregoy's profile signature, that's what's happening to me:

"Madness takes it's toll, please have exact change"

i'm thinking of a ebay auction from a week or so ago. somebody was selling a early New Palladini. greenish teal back with a different orobouros design. i believe it was a first printing of "The New Palladini"

I always liked the one that went:
"Don't knock on Death's door. Ring the bell and run away. He hates that".

The energy from this deck is confident and settled.
My feeling is that it really represents one person's
journey and effort in an magestic way. It's sacred.

care for it. Enjoy it. You're clearly meant to have it.

I was just reading in a 'Strings' music magazine... a violin maker/restorer commented that you never really own a (good) violin... you're just caring for it for the next person.
