I am-
***You Are A Weeping Willow Tree***

You are a dreamer, and you're into almost any kind of escapism.
Restless and capricious, you love to travel to exotic places.
You are easily influenced by others, as long as they don't pressure you.
You tend to suffer in love until you find that one loyal, steadfast partner.
An empathetic friend, you love to make others smile and laugh.

I feel like I've done this before...
maybe this is why I've planted 10+ willow trees in the pass 10+ years...

You Are An Apple Tree
You are quiet and shy at times, but you have lots of charm and appeal.
You are quite attractive: your pleasant attitude, flirtatious smile, and adventurous spirit draw people in.
Sensitive and loyal in love, you want to love and be loved.
You are a faithful and tender partner - who is generous in sharing your many talents.
You love children, and you need an affectionate partner.

That is so not me... Save the quiet and shy part and being loyal.

You Are A Hornbeam Tree
You are a reserved person, looking in from the outside.
Naturally attractive, you take good care of your looks.
You are not egoistic, and you make life as comfortable as possible.
You look for kindness in others - though you are seldom happy with yourself.
A bit mistrusting and unsure, you dream of being swept away by someone unusual.

I don't think I'm naturally attractive, and right now I need to lose about 40 pounds. These are a really good example of those nebulous and true for everyone statements, sadly. :( Oh well, these games are always fun anyway. :)

Hmmmmm I got Cedar Tree

You are elegant yet unpretentious, modest yet vivacious.
Attractive and friendly, you are full of imagination but might lack passion.
You abhor vulgar people, and you don't like anything in excess.
You have little more ambition than to live a calm life and enjoy nature.
You create a content, peaceful atmosphere for others

Half right, half wrong ........ nothing wrong with a bit of excess, you'd think they'd know that with it being a Leo sign after all!

I got this-

You Are A Hazelnut Tree

You're a charmer with a killer sense of humor.
You are very demanding, but you can also be very understanding.
No matter what, you always make a lasting impression - you're quite popular.
Passionate, you are an active fighter for social causes and politics.
In general, you are moody, honest, a perfectionist, and very sexual.

I've been told I'm a charmer & have a sense of humor before--true
demanding? NOT ME! very understanding---oh yeah
make a lasting impression---yeah, sometimes good, sometimes bad-
quite popular---not sure
passionate, and active fighter for social causes - yes, this is also true
moody--NEVER :D, honest---yes, a perfectionist---heck no! very sexual---well some things are private here, :D but overall, this sounds somewhat true, but I was hoping to get an apple tree---that sounds more like me, I think!

I am an Elm.
BUT'
if we are to read both our ascending sign along with our sun sign, I am a
Elm/Maple. (Capricorn & Aries)
***
Germanic Creation Myth - The Elm

The ancient Germanic peoples who came to inhabit much of Europe, believed that three gods, Odin, Vili and Ve, created the world.

According to the myth, these three gods were walking by the sea examining their handiwork when they came upon two fallen trees. One was an ash, the other an elm. Odin imbued them with the spark of life. Vili endowed them with spirit and a thirst for knowledge. Ve gave them the gift of five senses.

When they had finished, the fallen trees resembled the gods themselves. Out of the ash came man. Woman was created from the elm and her name was Embla.

The Legend - The Maple

The Native Americans were the first people to make maple syrup, which can be expected, since they were the first inhabitants of North America, and this is the only part of the world in which maple syrup can be made. If you think about everything that is needed to make maple syrup, the proper season, the proper tree, all the boiling, it makes you wonder how anyone ever thought to try it.
Below is the Native American legend about how the first maple syrup was made.
One day in early spring, an Indian chief came home from a long day of hunting and stuck his tomahawk in one of the trees outside his longhouse, as he did every night. Now being that maple trees are very abundant in his area, this happened to be a maple.
The next morning the chief woke and left for another hunt, taking his tomahawk from the tree. It just happened that there was a bowl sitting at the base of this tree, directly under the gash made by the chief's tomahawk. As the warm spring sun shone on the maple tree, the sap began to run out of the gash, down the trunk, and dripped into the bowl. As evening approached, the chief's daughter began to prepare dinner. She needed a pail of water to boil dinner in though. As she walked past the tree on her way down to the creek, she noticed the bowl full of "water" sitting by the tree. Rather than walk all the way to the creek, the chief's daughter decided to use this "water." As the dinner boiled, the "water" boiled away, and by the time dinner was done, the "water", which was actually maple sap, had boiled down to the first maple syrup. With a little experimenting, the chief and his daughter discovered how and when to make this new all natural sweetener. From that point on, maple syrup became an important part of the Native American's diet.

I'm a cedar tree, and I agree with huredriel - doesn't necessarily sound too Leo-ish. I don't think there is a one to one correspondence with the normal astrological stuff. Or if there is, there is some kind of error in the system. GA and I both came up with the Weeping Willow and her birthday and mine are many months apart.

I'd love to be one. They tend to live near water and have deep, meaningful conversations with fish. And little ducklings hide between their branches.

That said, it was pretty accurate (even though as a Weeping Pisces Willow I'm sure to be the most dreamy escapist person ever), except for the facts that I'm pretty productive and swordsy/wandsy in general, and the only time I've ever suffered in love was with that loyal, steadfast partner. ;)

And while it's hard for you to trust, you care deeply for those close to you.
You are a social butterfly, and you have many friends.
You handle stress well - and you are a master at relaxing after a hard day.
Overall, you are modest, talented, unselfish, and very reliable.

THis is half and half on for me......

Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933)

THE FOOLISH FIR-TREE

A tale that the poet Rückert told
To German children, in days of old;
Disguised in a random, rollicking rhyme
Like a merry mummer of ancient time,
And sent, in its English dress, to please
The little folk of the Christmas trees.

A LITTLE fir grew in the midst of the wood
Contented and happy, as young trees should.
His body was straight and his boughs were clean;
And summer and winter the bountiful sheen
Of his needles bedecked him, from top to root,
In a beautiful, all-the-year, evergreen suit.

But a trouble came into his heart one day,
When he saw that the other trees were gay
In the wonderful raiment that summer weaves
Of manifold shapes and kinds of leaves:
He looked at his needles so stiff and small,
And thought that his dress was the poorest of all.
Then jealousy clouded the little tree's mind,
And he said to himself, "It was not very kind
"To give such an ugly old dress to a tree!
"If the fays of the forest would only ask me,
"I'd tell them how I should like to be dressed,—
"In a garment of gold, to bedazzle the rest!"
So he fell asleep, but his dreams were bad.
When he woke in the morning, his heart was glad;
For every leaf that his boughs could hold
Was made of the brightest beaten gold.
I tell you, children, the tree was proud;
He was something above the common crowd;
And he tinkled his leaves, as if he would say
To a pedlar who happened to pass that way,
"Just look at me! don't you think I am fine?
"And wouldn't you like such a dress as mine?"
"Oh, yes!" said the man, "and I really guess
I must fill my pack with your beautiful dress."
So he picked the golden leaves with care,
And left the little tree shivering there.

"Oh, why did I wish for golden leaves?"
The fir-tree said, "I forgot that thieves
"Would be sure to rob me in passing by.
"If the fairies would give me another try,
"I'd wish for something that cost much less,
"And be satisfied with glass for my dress!"
Then he fell asleep; and, just as before,
The fairies granted his wish once more.
When the night was gone, and the sun rose clear,
The tree was a crystal chandelier;
And it seemed, as he stood in the morning light,
That his branches were covered with jewels bright.
"Aha!" said the tree. "This is something great!"
And he held himself up, very proud and straight;
But a rude young wind through the forest dashed,
In a reckless temper, and quickly smashed
The delicate leaves. With a clashing sound
They broke into pieces and fell on the ground,
Like a silvery, shimmering shower of hail,
And the tree stood naked and bare to the gale.

Then his heart was sad; and he cried, "Alas
"For my beautiful leaves of shining glass!
"Perhaps I have made another mistake
"In choosing a dress so easy to break.
"If the fairies only would hear me again
"I'd ask them for something both pretty and plain:
"It wouldn't cost much to grant my request,—
"In leaves of green lettuce I'd like to be dressed!"
By this time the fairies were laughing, I know;
But they gave him his wish in a second; and so
With leaves of green lettuce, all tender and sweet,
The tree was arrayed, from his head to his feet.
"I knew it!" he cried, "I was sure I could find
"The sort of a suit that would be to my mind.
"There's none of the trees has a prettier dress,
"And none as attractive as I am, I guess."
But a goat, who was taking an afternoon walk,
By chance overheard the fir-tree's talk.
So he came up close for a nearer view;—
"My salad!" he bleated, "I think so too!
"You're the most attractive kind of a tree,
"And I want your leaves for my five-o'clock tea."
So he ate them all without saying grace,
And walked away with a grin on his face;
While the little tree stood in the twilight dim,
With never a leaf on a single limb.

Then he sighed and groaned; but his voice was weak—
He was so ashamed that he could not speak.
He knew at last that he had been a fool,
To think of breaking the forest rule,
And choosing a dress himself to please,
Because he envied the other trees.
But it couldn't be helped, it was now too late,
He must make up his mind to a leafless fate!
So he let himself sink in a slumber deep,
But he moaned and he tossed in his troubled sleep,
Till the morning touched him with joyful beam,
And he woke to find it was all a dream.
For there in his evergreen dress he stood,
A pointed fir in the midst of the wood!
His branches were sweet with the balsam smell,
His needles were green when the white snow fell.
And always contented and happy was he,—
The very best kind of a Christmas tree.

A lot of this fits but I'm not a social butterfly at all (introverted homebody is more like it). I have acquaintances and friends at work but I don't hang out with then. I am around so many people at work that I need that downtime away from people in general! But I do like spending time with my family and hanging out here with all of you though so maybe that counts :)

I'm a lime tree, but what's Celtic about a lime-tree?

I happen to know I'm ivy, so this isn't correct.

A celtic lime-tree? I'm not sure the Celtic world is hot enough to produce limes.

***You Are A Fir Tree***

You love anything beautiful, and you have extraordinary taste.
And while it's hard for you to trust, you care deeply for those close to you.
You are a social butterfly, and you have many friends.
You handle stress well - and you are a master at relaxing after a hard day.
Overall, you are modest, talented, unselfish, and very reliable.

I'm not sure if I agree with the part about handling stress well, I stress out pretty easily. I get panic attacks when things become overwhelming. I avoid stress as much as possible but when it is inevitable I take a bath, take my meds, do Rieki on myself and try to take even small steps toward a solution.

It is hard for me to trust. I do love art and anything beautiful and natural.
The other stuff I don't know. I guess thats for other people to decide.

You Are A Weeping Willow Tree
You are a dreamer, and you're into almost any kind of escapism.
Restless and capricious, you love to travel to exotic places.
You are easily influenced by others, as long as they don't pressure you.
You tend to suffer in love until you find that one loyal, steadfast partner.
An empathetic friend, you love to make others smile and laugh.

Yeah that is all true for me! I am a dreamer and way too much of one. I haven't traveled to any exotic place but I would love too. It's alway been my dream to travel to all of them someday. I am very influenced by others, sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. The fourth one is definitely true and I do like to make others laugh and smile.

I tried my again a few minutes ago, and it still comes up Rowan Tree. I was wondering if is just picking any one at random, and it does not seem to be the case. And it is mostly accurate about me.

Oh, about the Lime Tree....

Growing citrus of any kind was a big thing in the UK and Ireland at one time. As an example, in Northhanger Abbey, Henry Tilney managed his "pinery" which was a word used for a place to grow pineapples. Basically hothouses.

Orangeries existed in the early Colonial days here in the US, and that was largely because the idea came over from the UK.

So, I daresay that someone grew limes in a limery, and lemons in a lemonry too. Actually, I would think limes would have gotten a lot of importance as they were known to prevent scurvy.
