anyone outhere ever use her wonderful interpretation? I've used it since 1999 and nothing else since. most readings I've done have been with her book by my side. I just never hear of any others who do.

Hi! I have her book- I found it very useful when researching to give different insights into the cards, but I think it is too limited, (and inaccurate in places), to use exclusively. It certainly does lend a unique perspective, and contrast nicely with my favourite tarot book, Lon Milo DuQuette's Thoth book.

Blessings,

I also own this book it has been on my shelf for sometime. I think maybe I will dust it off and give it another go.

I recently picked up her book and have found it useful, though I'm still reading about individual cards and haven't gotten to the exercises or appendices yet. My main problem with the book is that it seems to minimize cultural particularities and rely on Jungian and Campbellian "universal" archetypes, of which I'm slightly skeptical. On the whole, though, I've been enjoying the book. Has she published anything else?

I completely agree with your assessment. I happen to like Angie's archetypal and cross-cultural perspective but it definitely needs to be balanced with Crowley's own work (the ultimate source), along with additional insights from DuQuette and Banzhaf. In some places Angie weaves a fantasy that makes for a good story but is just plain wrong.

I've both studied and taught with Angie Arrien. She's a remarkable person and a truly charismatic and inspiring speaker who was born into a Basque shamanic tradition. You can find out more about her at:
