Chicken or the Egg?

Hello everyone,

I have a question, and I can't think of better people to ask than you guys:

What came first, playing cards ( as in Poker, Black jack, Pinnocle, Bridge) or divination cards (Tarot, Oracle etc.)?

that's easy. playing cards. they are chinese in orgin -- the chinese invented paper -- and come to europe via the arabs. they may have reached spain and italy at about the same time.

playing cards for trick-taking games are already recorded in italy in the late 1300s. check out the playing card society's website for the whole story.

if you want to be precise, tarot cards are playing cards -- the game of tarot is still played in a number of countries.
