Hi All!
Here we go again ..... male, deceased.Using my Golden Tarot
LOOKS:8 Cups, 2 coins reversed, wheel of fortune
The 8 of cups shows that he was slender of build, light to reddish brown hair color, (in youth at least). both the 8cups & the 2 coins reversed gives me the impression of him not being well put together, dress wise. Not sure if it's because he is not wealthy, but I just feel like he's a bit sloppy. The wheel of fortune makes me feel like he also looks disorganized and 'out of it'. a bit spacy.
PERSONALITY:4 cups, 6 wnads reversed, the lovers
the 4cups makes me think he is a thinker---head lost in the clouds, and his personality is in someways detached from what is going on around him. the 6 wands reversed makes me feel like he wanted alot of praise for himself. the Lovers makes me feel like he was a wise man and a thinker. He also was emotional---(cups and lovers).
CAREER:5cups reversed, page of coins reversed, 10 wands
his career was a heavy burden for him, (10wands) which is an easy thing to see. it was also emotionally challenging, (5 cups reversed). the page of coins rev. shows that his job probably did not make him a lot of money and was not very glamorous in anyway. In fact, I feel like he probably lost moneyin this business. the 5 cups reversed also gives me the impression that it bothered him because he could not see his way out of a difficult situation, for which he payed dearly for---losing his job/career/business.
FAMILY:10 swords reversed, queen wands reversed, hierophant reversed
the 10swords rev. shows me that his family and he had hard times together. I don't think they were always on good terms with eachother. the queen of wands reversed could be his wife/s.o. she looks rather sneaky in this card, and so I'm thinking that maybe she sabbotauged (sp?) him in some way in his business dealings. she was pushy and tempermental. hte hierophant reversed suggests taht he did not think for himself---allow her to take that command, but it still brought him down.
EXTRA CARD(S):tower reversed, 8 swords reversed, the fool
gee, these cards don't look so good. he definately had some difficult times in his life. though the tower is reversed, it still feels like he had a hard time in his life. I feel like he was accused of terrible things--and this is how he lost his job/career. the 8 swords reversed indicates that he may have been arrested for something he was accused of. not sure if he was guilty of it, but I almost feel like this had to do with stealing? the fool makes me feel like he should have seen this coming.

Grrr I detest computers. I just typed in my long reading and it got lost. between this and trying to shrink an image for an avatar for this site I am suicidal....
Havent the time or energy to type the thing all over, which I can't remember anyway. I got the idea the guy was sloppy and nonchalant looking- perhaps purposely non-chalant looking. I had an image of a man handling a cigarette in a mock-sophisticated manner. Thought- James Dean.
Someone who was verbally acute and witty possibly with humor who had perhaps been struck down suddenly with an illness. There was an Ace Swords R in there somewhere. Also got a couple of reads on someone who had some public embarrasments.
My special card was 5 Coins R so I thought of someone who had trangressed a disaster, health problem or some sort of ruin. Thought- The Depression. My guess was FDR.

Yes the avatar shrinking was very very annoying....
OK well he wasn't sloppy.
He was struck suddenly with an illness in the end. He was most probably verbally acute since he was mentally acute.
Not FDR nor Lee

Yes Franniee I am now a MEMBER. I did put the screen name story on the chat site, but my posts are weird and draggy today- not to mention myself, so I'm gonna call it quits for awhile. I feel out of sorts- PMS-666.
Hey wouldn't that be a great screen name!!!! Or liscense plate for your car... speeding out to DEPT. MOTOR VEHICLES right now!!!!..
Maybe US Grant if temperance was an issue at the end of his life- but he was a real slob.. I'll read again later....

hmmm. well, I can NEVER guess the 'who' and don't really try anymore, as I am just not good at that! but while reading what you reported on everyone else's draws, it made me think that he maybe had a stroke later in life, and that is why some of us picked up on him being dissheveled or sloppy looking, (b.a. & me).
and because you did not say he was NOT royalty, w/Empath's posts, but you did say he was not 'medieval', it does lead me to believe he was of royal blood. he went to a military academy, and he was a leader and a pioneer and an entrepenuer. fighting for the land.
temperance was key at the end of his life?
commanding and hostile?
it does sound like someone who fought in the american civil war---though we did not get much, (excpet willow) for military cards.

Well i threw another 3 cards and got,
Queen of cups, 10 cups, 2 pents.
The 2 cup cards suggests to me along with the pents that he and his family lived someplace close to the sea and part of his business had to do with the sea as well, like in owning ships???

Hey I just got my BEAUTIFUL Lillie- made Aubrey Beardsley deck and I came online to thank her- BUT thought I'd try it out on our mystery man- Its majors only deck.
Three cards-
World R
JudgementR
The Emperor
Feel like I have to tone down the meanings without any minors as modifiers:
He lived in a time when the world felt like it was upside down- a crazy time- like a war or something drastic.
He resisted "hearing the call" to help solve the problem because he was not emotionally caught up in this crisis. The Emperor convinced him or employed him to help and in turn our man made his name for himself because of this calamity. A reluctant hero.
Also had a sudden thought that this guy might be some sort of astronaut- the world turned upside down and all- and perhaps was somehow in the space race- heeding the call of his country to win but not interested in the winning but in the science and exploration.
That's as good as it gets with a new deck and 666!!

I’ve missed playing the last couple of days…soooo busy! I didn’t get to catch up on the last one I played, sorry BA!
Looks:7wands/strength
I think he had a nervous look about him, or aggravated even. Well built and physically fit. For some reason I think he wears something around his collar and wrists, like buttons or something, I can’t be sure, I don’t want to leave out anything that catches my eye though.
Personality:8wands/9cups
He thinks fast and moves fast. He was a talker, probably had the gift of gab, he had a way about him that won people over, he himself was a pretty happy person, it probably rubbed of on others, he was upbeat and enthusiastic, always inspired. I think his personality is what makes him, lots of flair, creativity, and inventive.
Career:The hermit/ace of pentacles
He worked alone, did he discover something, or was searching for something of value. I’m changing my mind now, maybe he created something, I feel like he was on the verge of a breakthrough. There might be something wrong with the timing though, like maybe he didn’t get to see it through to the end.
Family:9wands/2wands
Man, I didn’t understand this 9 when I pulled it the last time in the same position. The 2 would indicate he wasn’t married, and a family would have stood in the way of what he was trying to accomplish, his mind was on his goals. He may have had a partner though.
I don’t think he was close to his relatives.
Something unique:8pents/the emperor
I think he made something, using tools as opposed to pencil and paper, strong and solid structure, a statue maybe? The emperor would represent family and authority, but I don’t think it’s his family, anyway, he was definitely an expert in his field, whatever he did commanded respect and recognition.
I don’t know how much I’m feeling this one, maybe it’s another person I don’t know…which there seems to be a lot of em! I keep thinking I must be sheltered because I don’t know who a lot of these MP’s are!
Now I’ll read what everyone else got, I have a feeling I went off the path somewhere along the line.

Hi everyone :)
Personality:Queen of cups and 2 of pentacles. His changing fortunes over his life made him into the man he was...He was willing to help the underdog was compassionate, competent and had very good instincts.
Looks:His appearance would inspire men, as it was very confident, but at the same time there was a haggardness to him, he was tired from always working to the limits of his ability's.
Career: Moon and Strength, I have drawn these for career before in this game...weird.He caused fear in people who were not on his side, he had a strong mind and needed courage in his job. I wonder if his work was cutting edge? making it seem a mystry to the average person??
Standout or key thing: 2 of wands: He was very powerful and left his mark on the world. He ruled firmly and had executive powers.
Died:Queen of Pentacles: he died wealthy and surrounded by things he loved best.

In the end he was haggard without a doubt. He was an innovator but not in the classic sense the term is used. He was quite powerful. I think he died wealthy and surrounded by people he loved!

09-05-2007, 21:09
OK you guys are killing me!!!!
Willow you have to stop pulling cards and just do your psychic thing!!!
just kidding...
Hermit, Hierophant and Tower
I don't know why you are getting the hermit - he wasn't even a virgo - he was a scorpio!
He died within my lifetime....
He is not obscure! Not at all. He was quite famous! He went to military school - he was not a militarist in the classic sense - like general lee or grant or sherman etc.
The tower is a pivotal card in your 3 card draw but you need to explain to me what you think the hermit and heirophant mean in this case.... the heiro in my mind would work but what do you see???
I just have to give you a little little clue and you will get it, I know...... come on
Where is PMS 666? You can do it too! and celtic and empath and SMV and starlover and TCO and Tabi - why have you all abandoned me????? :P

Franniee, I haven't abandoned you!
I asked what he was most known for, and these aren't helping me any!
The Devil/Knight of Wands
I can't remember if anyone guessed his illness, but I want to say he died of a respritory thing, maybe he was a smoker, I feel like I'm picking up on coughing. I don't know what to make of the devil for such a happy person. Does he have a son/younger sibling whose lifestyle he didn't approve of?
Geez, I am so bad at putting 2 and 2 together sometimes! Normally I would say that these 2 cards would mean anger and aggravation over a real estate transaction, or a younger male who fits the description. He was really tied down with something connected to this knight, an idea he had was controversial, or maybe wasn't taken seriously, so he spent a lot of his life trying to implement his ideas.
I dunno!!!!!

He has 2 sons but I don't believe he disapproved of them. But the real estate thing is a good pickup but not in the way you are reading it.
He could have ultimately succumbed to his illness due to his lungs - the disease does manifest in the lungs sometimes. So that could be right too. :)

I've not abandoned you either, Franniee, but come on, I'm only good at laying out the cards---and sometimes there I come up completely wrong!
well, I've layed out 3 more cards---
ace swords, 10 cups reversed, the moon
a moody guy. the ace of swords does look like a military man, but since you said no to that, I'm going to say he's someone organized and stern, but a family man, (10 cups), and because those cups are overturned--the family unit was not entirely happy---or maybe they were seperated. I feel like they may have had two children as well. The last time, I put in about the family, I said-
FAMILY:10 swords reversed, queen wands reversed, hierophant reversed
to which you replied: "The cards are right and are key! "
so obviously these six cards should give me a clue to him/his family. I'm just not sure who he is----but since I did not get the interp. correct the last time, let me try them again too.
The 10 swords reversed would tell me that his marriage had it's up and downs, and the queen wands rev. is his wife/s.o. she was someone who pushy and arrogant at times. the hierophant reversed could tell that they sought counseling, or that possibly their relationship was one that was not accepted by others and that is what led to their troubles as well.
NO IDEA! Where are all the good guessers here???? c'mon!
when is the great reveal anyway, franniee????
EDITED TO ADD: OK, just saw after I posted this where you confirmed he had two sons- I was thinking John Lennon, but I don't think he had any military schooling. Also, I think we would have picked up on his musical stuff, which I don't think anyone has. but, I"ll go with that guess! John Lennon???

OK let me clarify - he is not defined by the military. He did not lead an army into battle.
He was married more than once. Once to a true love which he had to foresake - and I am sure it broke his heart. This part that you write is quite close..... quite close - but not exactly - you are on the right track :)
the hierophant reversed could tell that they sought counseling, or that possibly their relationship was one that was not accepted by others and that is what led to their troubles as well.
He also had 3 daughters. :)
He is not a musician nor does he have anything to do with music or art.

i knew he was not defined by the military, as you had stated that, it's just that is what I normally think of when I see the ace of swords, which is why i mentioned that.
so, the ace of swords does show as a good card to describe him and his career. I would say then he's definately someone where order is important to him. He wants to make things work right. all about action, and he's the one who makes it work--the hero like. not afraid to be tough when called for.
still have no idea who the heck it is! :D

using the cosmic tarot
Looks - The World - oh my! famous looks :D Average build, nice looker i guess, dressed quite fancifully
Personality - 2 of cups - Amiable friendly person, into peace and good relations, socialite somehow
Career - Star - peacemaker - inspirer for others
Home/Personal Life - 5 of Cups
Some disappointments in this field
Bottom of deck was 6 of wands - a winner, leader, recognised widely
Ghandi? no, he was shot and he was trained as a lawyer, hmmmm will have to have a think

No it is not Ghandi.
Yes he had famous looks - I think he was good looking - dressed fanciful! All GOOD!
He was into good relations.
Was quite disappointed in his home life over his life span but may have reconciled that in the end.
Bottom of deck was 6 of wands - a winner, leader, recognised widely
Oh YES
and he was not russian. No.

Willow pulled temperance in the beginning..... this was very key in the latter stage of his life. Actually it was key throughout his life.

and because you did not say he was NOT royalty, w/Empath's posts, but you did say he was not 'medieval', it does lead me to believe he was of royal blood. he went to a military academy, and he was a leader and a pioneer and an entrepenuer. fighting for the land.

The trouble is that I don't think I am being clear because it isn't black and white and I don't want to mislead you guys. You'll see once you know who it is why I was being a pain in the neck over this. :)
okay, just got back from delivering meals on wheels. wow! lots of posts since then!
franniee, you are NOT being a pain in the neck---
his illness, it wasn't tb was it? While reading through the newer posts, that thought came to me.
still not sure the who---but that may be a new clue, how 'bout it????
franniee
10-05-2007, 02:09
Meals on wheels - that is so nice! I used to do a lot of volunteer work when I was single - I tutored high schoolers - LOVED it! I have to get back into something again.....
no it wasn't TB - Empath made the assumption it was cancer and she is right.
In the end it may have made it difficult for him to breathe - I suspect it but I don't know that as a fact (but since you guys are focusing on the lungs I would bet money on it) - if I tell you which cancer it was it may be a big clue - or not..... suffice it to say it was cancer. :)

okay, gotta do this. list all the 'what we DO know for sure' things.
male
deceased
went to a militray academy
BUT NOT a military guy
not sloppy
struck suddenly w/an illness in the end
probably verbally acute since he was mentally acute
Not FDR or Robert E Lee
Temperance was key at the end of his life
not medieval
a leader
a pioneer
an entrepenuer
of royal blood
fighting for the land
freedom at all costs,
confident
focused
talented
will sacrafice for the greater good
commanding
hostile
inhibited environment
4 cups, 6 wands rev. & the lovers are good cards
career was a heavy burden
10 swords rev., queen wands rev., & hierophant cards are key
not arrested, but had a very hard time of things
not general macarthur
between 1850-2000
something unique w/8pents & emperor
In the end he was haggard without a doubt. He was an innovator but not in the classic sense the term is used. He was quite powerful. I think he died wealthy and surrounded by people he loved!
not J Edgar Hoover
he was a scorpio
died w/in Franniee's lifetime
not obscure at all
quite famous
not militarist in hte classic sense
2 sons
real estate troubles w/anger involved
married more tehn once
one true love he had to foresake & it broke his heart
3 daughters
not a musician or anything to do with art or music
ace of swords a very good card to describe him & his career
and he was the ace of swords
did not die of heart disease, but of an illness
a very insidious disease
Guesses and sort of confirmed:
*He was known for action, was powerful
Known:
*He was a president or leader
*He died in the 20th century
*He had five children
*He went to military school, but was not in the military itself.
*He died wealthy surrounded by the people he loved
*He died of cancer
*He married more than twice
*He was known for action, was powerful
Not Nelson Mandela
Not ronald Reagan
Not an american
not Ho Chi Minh
not Ghandi
had famous looks
was good looking, (at least, Franniee thinks so!)
dressed fanciful
into good relations
Was quite disappointed in his home life over his life span but may have reconciled that in the end.

OK I quit - everyone go to wiki and read about him but you all did well - I kept harping on temperance because he had to mix and mingle throughout his reign with the right and left wing a war he ultimately lost and also when he was in exile he had to rely on temperence to get safe haven for treatment and residence and even his burial - he really had to walk a fine line in the end.
He was married 3 times - the first wife bore him a son - the second was supposedly his true love but she was barren - the third and final bore him 4 children.
He was the Ace of Swords and was usually pictured in military dress and he was the ultimate commander but he wasn't a militarist - i hope that part wasn't too misleading.
I don't get the hermit..... for him - maybe you guys can figure that one out for me.
He was revolutionary but he also was deposed and that was a tough road.
OK that was tough..... so now it is time for me to go back to the other side!
yes the shah of iran - mohammed reza pahlavi - was exiled and they brought the ayahtollah khomeni in - The shah was thrown out in january of 1979 and by that november the hostages were taken....

I had to bring it into photoshop and totally drop it down - make it physically smaller - like a 1/2 inch or so square and then reduce the file size - it was tricky! I think I may have also saved as a bmp and a jpeg. i have a mac and sometimes they don't play nice with the PCs.
I love fish too - I was thinking of a little koi pond or something or even one in the house - althought our cat might have other ideas for them....
I got patio furniture today with a firepit..... don't know what we are going to do with that but it will also double as an ice pit - so we can cool drinks and such!
OK you do it but you have to promise to pick someone that isn't obscure! You and TCO pick these odd people - although I am learning a lot of new things and people !!! Thanks to you guys!!!
blackairplane

Koi are beautiful. I love them, but they are illegal in my state in natural ponds, they multiply like rabbits and the state is afraid to hurt natural fish stocks. I have rainbow trout. I feed them and see them everyday in the warm weather. In the cold they hide under the ice. I lose a few every year to eagles.
OK I'll do the next one. I PROMISE you'll know her.

Hi All!
Here we go again ..... male, deceased.
cards for looks, personality, career, home/family/personal etc.....
whatever your heart fancies......
On your Mark, Get Set, GOOOOOOOOOOO!
OK, I draw four cards from the Voodoo Tarot, duly invoking Papa Legba...
4 of Cups... don't know if this relates to looks so much, but he may find himself on the fairish side... Liked the idea of a hermitage, a safe refuge... I get the idea of Cistercian Trappist monk, Thomas Merton...
Personality: Six of Pentacles _ lol! A mischievous childlike spirit indeed! Kind of a trickster or prankster _ That would fit my initial intuition of "Chop Suey Louie" _ with all his other innumerable poetic aliases!
Career: Ten of Pentacles _ Ochosi the Hunter _ on a never_ending voyage or quest _ the idea of the mystical monastic quest certainly fits!
Home etc: Shango (eight of Pentacles) _ originally very confused about family and even national allegiances (NZ mother _ American father _ born in France _ educated in England and later America) _ but found a stable "home life" within the confines of the Catholic monastic tradition in Our Lady of Gethsemane monastery KY USA?!!
