I have it but haven't looked at it in a while. It's very much in the style of the Magickal Tarot (not in the style of the I Ching Pack!)

I made a special effort to get this rune deck--love the artwork and it is similar to the Magickal Tarot which I also like.

I would say "Yes." Runes are runes and these are the Elder Futhark. For me, any deck reads well if I'm keen on the art. The runes are split into 3 groups of eight--hence the different coloured borders for each group.

Here are some scans--the Ing card reminds me very much of a pip in the Hallowquest Arthurian deck with a sword floating down a forking river.

Notice that the central images are fairly small but he's made a real effort to make the frames for each image relate well--they are very charming and not all the same shape. Very stylized and clearly defined and some contain extra symbolism. I like this illustrative style very much. The card backs are gorgeous.

It comes with a LWB. I bought mine used so don't have a box and I'm not sure what the original packaging is, but I found a nice ceramic box to keep it in.

See what you think of the art--that's the grabber--if you don't like the art and colours you probably won't like the deck, that's the way it generally works for me.

The title card is nicely done with hand-lettered script and drop caps and says:

When Odin hung beneath the tree,
He snatched the Runes for me and thee,
Receive this gift with modesty,
Lest thou should lose their mystery.

I turned the JPG sideways so I could fit the size restrictions of the board and still get a picture that was large enough to view. You can download it to your hard drive and then rotate it if necessary.

I love the Arthurian Tarot deck by hallowquest but get afraid to use it as its OOP now.
It does have similarities to the deck agreed.
I was shown this deck by a medium the other day, the decks immaculate the box a little shabby
and she has begged me for my arch angel cards( doreen virtue)

I really have to think about it as I am unsure as I have sets of runes and don't use them.

I don't know how popular this deck is and worried if I don't like it I will be stuck with it.

I love the Arthurian Tarot deck by hallowquest but get afraid to use it as its OOP now.

The version with the black borders is OOP, but they have a new version with lighter borders. I prefer the black, but perhaps the new one is something you could buy and use and not worry about?

I really have to think about it as I am unsure as I have sets of runes and don't use them.

What I found was that after I got several different rune cards, they enhanced my enthusiasm for the rune set I made. Never a purist, I like rune cards and often draw the same rune in different decks and spread them all out and compare them, compare their booklets.

It's tremendously different, something like this doesn't come along too often. Sets can often still be found in the UK.

yes the deck is with the black borders. I got it last week
I have seen the one with white borders it's nice.

The rune oracle i took a second look at & turned it down. I may live to regret it but I have 5 sets of runes I never use...yet I don't dislike runes and felt it would happen again & wasn't sure of the professional use of the cards.
I de-enabled myself


they are still looking for a angel or arch angel deck though so if you have one spare I might be able to put you in contact with them;)
