View Full Version : quartz crystal wand.. how do I use it ?

02-08-2007, 20:32
Yesterday I went out for lunch with friends and the gentleman said he had a box of books in the car and "stuff" and could we check it out. I claimed a crystal wand ! How thrilling is that ? I have it on the window ledge to be left in the sun for a couple of days before I wash it. Now my question is what do I do with it when I have it all set ? It is quartz crystal and has some little clouds in it and is very pretty.

I will post a picture in a few days.

I'd like to know as well. I'm getting married in a few months and my man offered to take me anywhere I want for our honeymoon vacation. I chose to drive to the quartz crystal mines and the Crater of Diamonds State park in central Arkansas, about an 8 hour drive from here. For a small fee at both places, you get to spend the day digging and keep all you find. The quartz mines guarantee crystals by the bucketful or your money back. I'm so excited, but not really sure what they're used for, I just think they're beautiful.

Hi Morticia... I was down in Arkansas a couple of months ago and it was my intention to go there but I got the flu. I did make it to Graceland in Memphis though. I will look for my answer in a book I guess and will post when I find it. I would assume it channels power but just not quite sure. Have a wonderful honeymoon.. that sounds like more fun than digging !

Well, it depends what YOU WANT to do with it. It can be used as a show altar piece. It can be used as a ceremonial wand. It can be used as part of a process to harmonize and array energy (any type from psychic to electro-magnetic). It could be used to produce an electric current (or to purify one), you could make a radio out of it. Use it as a healing wand. Or even bring it to Australia and insert it in a crystal seam in a cave to help control earthquakes (ask the Aboriginals about that one!).

(Or you could take it to lunch and give it to someone special for a present ;) )

Hi Ravenest.."part of a process to harmonize and array energy" sounds like it is in my interest. Exactly how do I go about finding that information ? Any ideas ? Going to Australia again and putting it into a crystal seam in a cave would be very exciting as well but no trip planned so guess that one is on the back burner.

It was given to me by a gentleman I have known for many years and he told me he did not need all those things anymore ! I don't know whether he is sick and clearing up his things or has just advanced beyond and did not have time to delve.. it was not the place to do so. I am going to though when I get the chance ask him what he meant by that but it may be a while.

In the meantime I will just treasure it. I have always collected crystals and stones as I am so attracted to them but never really know what to do with them. A beginner you could say.

Hi Ravenest.."part of a process to harmonize and array energy" sounds like it is in my interest. Exactly how do I go about finding that information ? Any ideas ? .

It depends on what level you want to work on. There should be info in basic electronics about using quartz as an energy purifier. Or a good gook on radionics for its more 'magical' applications.

I'd google quartz and keep going through until you find the field you are interested in.

Basically, if you could see an energy as a bunch of dashes streaming past, many of those dashes would not be lined up in the direction of travel of the energy beam. if this energy beam enters a quartz crystal, travels through it and exists the other end then the 'dashes' of energy would be all lined up in the direction of travel - (to put it very simply).

08-08-2007, 13:11
Ok thanks Ravenest I will pursue your suggestions. At least I know where to look now.

I left it in a sun for a couple of days and washed it with soap and water and then salt water so it should be cleansed I would assume. I have not tried holding it yet or trying to feel the energy but will. Life has been busy.
Tomorrow I will Google till I go nuttier than I am.

quartz wand...how do I use it?

I got my first store bought crystal wand this week. Gorgeous thing, nearly 6 inches long. It had a sticker on it that wouldn't come off with a gentle fingernail pry so I stood it up in a couple of inches of water for about 30 minutes. When I took it out of the cup it was in two pieces. :(

I'll probably never get back to that store, it's quite a distance away, and I doubt they would give my money back anyway, they'd have no way of knowing if I dropped it or whacked it or whatever.

So once I got over the shock I'm just telling myself I have two wands now, one with a round end and one with a pointed end.

09-08-2007, 02:22
That is really too bad AJ. Do you suppose it was cracked or do you think the different temperature of the air and water could have done it ? I doubt that very much. What a shame. It does not seem like rock should ever do that.

I mean you can scratch glass with quartz as well so it is pretty hard.
You should phone them and see what they say unless it would be of no benefit and just upset you more.

09-08-2007, 03:14
thanks. I refuse to be upset over things like this, life is too short. The water was tap temperature, wand was room temp. It was probably just a fracture that happened in the carving, but something to think about when members do the salt water and smoking and all that.

I am posting a picture of my new crystal wand and the yellow Septarian Calcite that Netzach sent to me.
On the bottom is a small emerald pillar. It does not show too well.

13-08-2007, 00:23
The other is my small crystal ball and an amethyst contained in glass sphere.

13-08-2007, 00:23
Very nice memories, thank you for sharing.
Oooh those are some nice pieces!

13-08-2007, 00:25
oooooh Memries! They are all gorgeous!!!

I was going crystal shopping today - it was planned and then I happened upon your beautiful picture! WOW! I just got the crystal bible yesterday and was going thru the pages and wanted to go today and shop a bit.... :)

13-08-2007, 00:34
AJ, why not see if they have a website.
i do agree that you should contact them and let them know about this, as most of the time, a retailer if a good retailer, one who stands behind their products, no matter the product will do their best to do you right. It's possible that the whole lot is defective, and they may have other complaints.
I'd write or call them, just so no one else gets a hold of a defective product, and you just might have your own replaced by them.

Best of Luck!

Good idea Floracove.

Franiee it sounds like you have a fun day ahead of you. Pocket of money and crystals in your mind ! It should work !

I am still looking for my Lemurian Crystal but they are $100 or over for the nice ones so I am going to wait for a day when I hate the world and am in total rebellion ! LOL

13-08-2007, 00:44
Good idea Floracove.

Most definitely, I've worked in too many stores with nearly 30 years of experience.
The customer is always right, and any establishment worth their salt will take care of this problem, and if the first person you talk to cannot or will not, you ask for a manager, if that brings no satisfaction, you ask for the owner.

AJ's piece is replaceable, and I have no doubt it took hard earned money to acquire it. It's new, nothing was done to it that should have hurt it, I don't believe. It should be taken care of by the seller. ;)

AJ, if you aren't able to go in, maybe you can get their address and mail the piece to them and have them mail the replacement back to you.

I know I am a little late on the subject but I thought this might be of some help.

Massage Wands

What is Massage?

Massage is beneficial to us in a variety of ways. It can improve blood circulation, calm the nervous system, improve muscle tone, stimulate skin function, ease muscular and joint aches and pains and most of all it 'feels' wonderful!

Massage is a gentle art form of healing which is suitable for anyone of any age. However, there are times and conditions when it would be best avoided (e.g. on a full stomach). Using your commonsense is the best insight, quite often all it will entail is leaving out a specific body area or if unsure leave completely alone.

Most importantly do not massage any bruised or broken skin, an area of infection, or a person with a high temperature/fever, an area of varicose veins or any swollen or inflamed area.
Basically massage is a way of stroking the body with variations in length and depth of strokes. You should however, always-direct firm strokes towards the heart. The long flowing massage strokes with the minimal pressure on the body are the most soothing and relaxing (this technique is known as effleurage). The whole hand is used, by giving gentle even pressure, which is often performed at the start and finish of a massage.

Putting it into practice!

Here are some simple guidelines in the use of a massage wand or a large tumbled stone:

The secret is to work very gently using small circular movements over any painful area of the body, anti-clockwise (unwinding) first to remove pain, then clockwise to put the crystal healing energy in - use your intuition to guide you with respect to how long you unwind for, and like wise to wind in aswell, you will know and feel when it is right to stop! If the area is very painful it is highly advised that you must work just slightly away from the body in the aura; this is known as aura massage.
Try using two different crystals if possible, maybe for example a Smokey quartz, amethyst, tourmaline or obsidian for removing/taking out the pain (unwinding) and a clear quartz, fluorite, citrine or rose quartz for putting the healing energy in.
The healing properties of the crystal you choose will depend upon what it is needed for (e.g. Smokey quartz, tourmaline and selenite (this is a very good all over cleanser) work well on back problems whilst rose quartz is very good with regard to balancing the emotions and promoting the release of impurities. It is very calming/soothing in cases of stress and tension and as well as being good for the skin and muscles it can stimulate the proper functioning of the heart and can be used to decrease coughs and sooth the lung and bronchial area!
Have a go at trying to work only in the aura, using massage techniques

It's from this website http://www.littlegemsrockshop.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2elittlegemsr ockshop%2eco%2euk%2f&WD=serpentine%20red&SHOP=%20&PREVQUERY=SS%3dred%2bserpentine%26PR%3d%2d1%26TB%3 dA%26SHOP%3d%20&PN=Crystal_Healing%2ehtml%23a153#a153

And your crystals are beautiful you are very lucky :)

13-08-2007, 04:11
Thank you vry much Wumpkie. You are not late but just on time !
I will read very thoroughly the enclosure you suggest. Since I am a Reflexologist and have Reiki and now Matrix Energetics I should be able to utilize the Crystal Wand very well.

I am just getting to know it and was holding it next to me in bed. I had to move it as it was just too potent. I felt funny so stopped. It was so cold and so thought will warm it up and put the heating blanket on. It is very charged with energy.

13-08-2007, 04:31
I bought an amethyst geode (2 actually - one for my daughter - she loved it) and I got the citrine geode I was looking for - it is beautiful - then in another store I saw a gorgeous one but it was 4 times the price I paid for the one I got - the quality was better though but I still love the one I got.

Then I got a crystal ball!!!! My husband wanted to pick it up today because he said he would never find this store again :D Love it but I can't have it until my birthday in a month....and my little one picked out a small crystal ball which we also told her she couldn't have until Mommy's bday :D

But I saw beautiful wands.....in pink quartz and clear quartz and smokey topaz etc.... NICE! Maybe another trip.

Quick question for Mortica
Which quartz mine are you going to? I have been looking to go to one of those quartz digs but didn't know which one to go to. I'm from Arkansas.

26-08-2007, 04:08
Neat Franniee.. so has your birthday passed yet ? Send us a pic if you can. Sorry I did not get back to this post sooner. Don't know what I was thinking about. They sound very super.

Looks like the best place is Mt Ida, there are also a few places outside Hot Springs as well.

I am also going to the Crater od Diamonds state park. It's in Murfreesboro, and you can dig and find diamonds of all colors, lamproite, amethyst, banded agate, jasper, peridot, garnet, quartz, calcite, barite, and hematite, among others. Anything you find is yours to keep, regardless of it's value.

It just really sounds like fun to me. Are you going, too?

Beautiful crystals, Memries! I use my quartz crystal wands for loads of things, but mostly for cleansing my tarot decks. They just sit on the top of the deck when I am not reading or in between readings (I have larger ones for at home, and smaller ones for on the road readings) and also keep them occasionally with any oracle, or anything that I want cleansing. I also have one in my new Shaman pouch. I have a small one that I wear around my neck when I feel under too much stress or have too many things going on at the same time and feel like I need my own cleansing. They are also wonderful for any work during the full moon. That is also when I recharge them-in the full moonlight for three nights, on a windowsill or on a my dining room table, which, as we have a large picture window in the room, the moonlight streams on in. Enjoy your new goodies!

26-08-2007, 19:53
I have one of those wands! It's for massage.

AJ, I think sometimes they make them from less than perfect crystals so yours probably had a fracture in it when you got it. By all means contact the store and tell them. They'll probably replace it.

I soooo envy those of you who can go to the Arkansas mines and get crystals! I've met people who have gone there to dig and they've had buckets of beautiful big crystals!

26-08-2007, 20:58
Me too Solitaire ! To think I was in Arkansas and so close. I did not even see any crystal type stores where I was. That and the diamond park.. shoot. Oh well, I got home safely after being sick and I did get to Graceland so I cannot complain.

Imagine being young and in love and knowing about crystals and things as well. That would be a wonderful way to start out.

HC thanks for your advice about using them to purify your Tarot Decks. I had understood about massage but doing my decks is just great. I am going to put mine on the window ledge in my son's room for the moonlight.

Moriticia your list is just great. It is certainly more than I could find out before I went down to Arkansas. I should have spent more time researching my trip before we went.

28-08-2007, 00:01
Thanks Mortica for that fantastic list. I will be going. I don't know yet when. I am actually out of the country but going home in a couple of weeks for a visit.
I want to go to the diamond fields too.
I am in the northwest corner, so about a 3 hour drive.
Thanks again and I hope you find lots and lots of goodies :)
