CHRISTMAS CHEER OR SEASONS GREETINGS
was thinking a one sabian symbol draw - pull a symbol for ourselves to see what this holiday season has in store for us - or even how to manouver through the season with love and joy :D

SCORPIO 12 A BRILLIANT ASSEMBLY OF OFFICIALS AT AN OFFICIAL EMBASSY BALL
You may find this to be a time of pleasant, almost party-like atmosphere. Enjoying social situations can be rewarding on many levels. However, the conditions may be caged in protocols and rules of behavior. Look at yourself and observe whether you are being your natural self or putting on a show for others.
Political game-playing. Manners and protocol. Who knows who and what it's worth. Being able to speak everyone's language. Issues of being invited.
The Caution: Becoming affected by the habit of role-playing. Not being taught to behave in "polite society".
interesting really - this will be the first time in a LONG time I will be going to official functions for Christmas and I had thought I would be putting on a show - looks like that will happen.. and of course as always I am sure there will be political game playing.... but it is nice to know thats what to look out for

oh, if my memory serves me correctly, I do recall that attending festival activities like this are a little out of your comfort zone. So, I wish you all the best.
I drew: Sagittarius 19 - Pelicans, disturbed by the garbage of people, move their young to a new habitat.
Oh wow! Oh wow! Oh wow! I don't even have to read anything into this card to know what it means.
Lynda Hill's interpretation talks of an environment which is no longer secure and safe and how it may be time to move "physically, mentally, or emotionally to a new situation that will provide a better way of life with more nourishment and less danger."
My partner has just told me that he no longer wants to be in a relationship. So, the garbage has just departed. Not that that would make much difference to my Christmas, as last year, I sat on my own at home, eating some dried-out crusty piece of lasagne that I dragged from the bottom of my freezer. My children were with their father. I think this year I need to celebrate with my children, even if it is still at my home.
I hate Christmas. I find it hard to find any joy at all. Especially as my mother died late January, 2005. I always think of my last Christmas with her and feel so sad.

the loss of your mother must bite hard at times like Christmas (birthdays and the like) There is nothing I can say to make it easier but I will try anyway ;)
Memories are very special one blessing, tears are precious two blessings, photographs are worth their weight in gold three blessings.....

SCORPIO 16............A GIRL'S FACE BREAKING INTO A SMILE
Not surprised to see the 16 of my Tower year appear. It's been a long year of continual loss and goodbyes. It's unavoidable that this Christmas will have an aura of sadness for all the family. The first Christmas without my mother and the last one in our home of the past 25 years.
Christmas celebrates the birth of a child...........the beginning of a new order.
The old traditions can no longer be but it's important that the foundations of the new be laid with a positive attitude. That the sadness doesn't overwhelm the laughter and joy.
The crystal element from Marina's book is Albite........'fosters warm, loving relationships'.

I have the feeling this symbol is telling me that I will have to take the responsibility for the emotional tone of our Christmas. As I've been the one hardest hit by the year's events I know my family will have some concern for how I'll be and will probably treat me with kid gloves on............all the while waiting for me to overindulge and start falling apart. :D
I shall have to surprise them !

Well I can identify with this symbol very much at the moment, I especially like the word *young* :D:D:D .... though I have to say that my inclination at the moment is stay very hermit like and not wander too far from home! There does, however, feel to be some excitement with this symbol ....... a lighting up from within almost ..... and hopefully lots of new experiences about to occur :) .... I guess lots of lessons still winging their way, Christmas should be interesting!

Oh, the first Christmas after your mother's passing is very hard, but also quite special. Nothing can be the same from here on, but hopefully you will find some peace and happiness there.
I remember quite fondly when I was choosing the image for this card. To me, it was like the young girl had a secret but nobody knew. And then, she could no longer contain it and it started to show by her smile suddenly, and somehow incontrollably, turning up at the corners. Like that I-Ching Tao card - the corners of your mouth.
So, your statement of having to "show them" fits in with this card quite well.

OK so its not QUITE Chrismtas - but darn close,
I have to share I went to my Christmas dinners and lunches and behaved and 'enjoyed' myself but I think the surprise for this card was that I really met an 'official' I was chosen to meet someone pretty important at a function..
I also MISSED out on being a part of one of the functions Oh yes I was there but I missed out on participating in its real sense.. my own fault - or was it planned that way by others - needless I carried myself with charm (as always!)
so I suppose the symbol WAS true in even its most basic form...
ON another level I decied it was HIGH time I invited prosperity happiness and official regognition into my life - and that also went smoothly..
(still hanging out for more prosperity he he he he)

I'm doing okay. Started my holiday a week ago. Got lots of painting and dirt-shifting (to reground) at my house. Very productive. Now in Melbourne - my children get dropped off tomorrow afternoon. It's going to be a quite Christmas but I'll get there in the end!
