Contacting Spirits Through Tarot.

Margo

Please Mods, if this is the wrong forum for this discussion please can you move it. I wasn't sure where it should go. Thank you.

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to contact a deceased loved one either for themselves or for another person through the tarot?

Can it be done and also is it right? Is it something that should be left alone or is it a personal choice, and has anyone here tried it?

The reason I ask is, I asked the tarot a question about my father last night who died last December, I was very surprised by the reading and it seems either the tarot gave me the information or may be my dad came through? I'm not sure which?

P.S I did look for a thread with this discussion but couldn't find one, if there is one please can you direct me to it. Thank you.

Sometimes that works for some people, but not for others. You can try saying a prayer or asking that a specific relative come through to tell you something through tarot before you cut the cards. Then they may come through some where in the reading, often like you said, unexpectedly. Or while you are shuffling or cutting the cards you may hear a voice or see one of your relatives or be shown something by them that they want to convey to you. Over time you will find what works best for you if you keep at it.

Thanks for your reply celeste. I will keep at this since I had good results last night. I'm really enjoying working with the tarot now.

The following is an article written by Mark McElroy where he discusses doing a reading about his late father.

This thread has some very interesting discussion about using the Tarot to communicate with the unalive. I posted in this thread about a spread that I did with my late father in mind.

Just for fun, I asked the Waking the Wild Spirit "if my husband could give me a message, what would it be?" and got an astonishing answer that had to have come from him, I can't help but believe. But I don't use the cards to try to contact him or anyone else who has passed away.

Do any of you have any book recommendations on grief? I have an online friend who is grieving the loss of both parents. Since this person is very anti-religious/new age (now that her parents have died) I can't suggest Tarot or one of my favorite books "Talking to Heaven" by James Van Praagh.
