Card that Fall Out

Mez

Hi there,

I'm new here and apart from my intro post - this is my first proper post!

I was wondering what people did with those cards that "fly out and flip over" when shuffling.

Would you just pop the card back into the pack? Or would you read it and how would you interpret it? As a warning? As you?

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated!

Sometimes I pop it back into the deck and reshuffle, some times I set it aside and do not use it. Sometimes I set it aside and see how it fits into the reading, sometimes I use it as the first card in the reading. Sometimes I just look at the person and say "thats interesting I wonder what, if anything, it means?" Note the card in my head and again put it back in the deck.

It changes every reading but I would say 30% of the time I toss it back into the deck.

Hi Mez,

welcome to the forum!
An excellent starting point to find your way around is looking at the index threads at the top of each subforum. They have lists of topics already covered.

For your particular question, which is a real favourite with many people, you can find some suggestions here:

I go by my intuition. Probably 95% of the time, I see it as meaningful to the querent's situation, and I interpret it briefly for her or him. Then I pop it back into the deck and continue shuffling. The rest of the time, I just pop it back in without comment.

Oh brilliant! Sorry I didn't realise there were existing threads! (although I should've guessed really!)

I shall investigate! Many thanks for your help!
