The Dreams Of Gaia Tarot

Oooooo those backs are lovely
And I thought it was just me with super oily fingerprints leaving marks over the backs!

Great, I'm gonna have to order another one :p
So we want the one published Oct 18th to get the newer version on Amazon?

I received my Dreams of Gaia Tarot from Amazon UK on Friday and it was the first edition with the misprinted Faith card - there were also two severely bent cards and many where they had stuck together and had pulled bits of black coating from the back design. I emailed Blue Angel direct and attached photos and they got back to me today and they are going to send me a complete new deck (second edition with the new design backs). This is excellent customer service all the way from Australia and it's made me happy and reassured as a valued customer.

The deck itself is gorgeous. We're in the getting to know each other phase and I'm enjoying the process immensely but that's not to say I'm finding it easy. I've been a Tarot Reader for over 25 years and I've mainly read RWS based decks and this isn't one by any means but it still reads like a Tarot for me and I'm getting enough back to make me want to learn and continue the journey.

Overall I'm so pleased i purchased this deck...teething problems aside it's a wonderful creation 🙏🙏🙏

Thanks Omshanti- My concern is that Amazon will continue to send out old stock until they run out of them, before sending the new edition.

Blue Angel sent me an entire replacement deck - the second edition, I think, with the new card backs - and it's absolutely perfect. No bends, tears or scuffs, the Faith card correctly numbered, even the box is better made (my first one didn't fit together so well and the inside frame holding the deck itself was all broken). I'm so happy! Been waiting for this deck for YEARS and I can't contain myself now I finally have it in my hands!

Also, kind of awed that Blue Angel went above and beyond to get me a perfect deck. They were so nice when I contacted them, they just asked for photos - I was nervous that they wouldn't want to replace my deck when the damage was relatively minor, but I knew my OCD was going to make it a problem, which is why I messaged them. But they were really polite and sweet, no quibbles and no fuss! They didn't even ask me to return the damaged deck, or pay for postage (I live in Finland, I can't imagine posting the deck from Australia to Finland would have been that cheap for them...) so now I have two. I'm sure the first edition will be a great keepsake, even if I don't use it!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Blue Angel is really, REALLY good about the replacements, and also the deck is absolutely worth the kerfuffle over this first printing. I don't regret it for a minute. Most beautiful deck imaginable, and I'm super impressed with how Blue Angel handled it all. Color me delighted!

Siavahda, good to hear there are more of us from this side of the planet! I live also high up north, in Estonia :)

Which also made me very astounded with the quality of customer service at Blue Angel. I am their avid customer (I own several of their oracle decks, and plan on getting many more). When I noticed the flawed print, I wrote to the e-mail address provided by Ravynne, and I got the reply from Blue Angel, confirming the shipment, in ---two hours----, with lots of apologies.

I mean... Whatever little peeve I might have had over the quality issues, are not only gone, but Blue Angel is now very high up on my Tarot and Oracle Publisher List, and I will definitely not stay on the fence regarding any other deck I might want to purchase from them. Moreover, Ravynne's poise and care in dealing with (what I can imagine is) a heap of possibly unpleasant e-mails is more than worthy of admiration.

Her reponse to my e-mail was soabsolutely sweet... It made me think about the deck itself, and its signature card, "Choice". Sometimes, bad things happen. Not even intrinsically bad, but things are thrown into our face, and it is only our CHOICE that brings the final result. How Ravynne and Blue Angel have CHOSEN to deal with the setbacks I think will result in an even better resume than the original situation would have allowed. It shows that both the author and publisher really walk the walk, not only talk the talk.

Truly magnificent.

Hi Ravynne,

Just a quick question (well maybe more than one?): When is this new edition going to be released? Are they going to discontinue selling the first edition and just only start selling the second edition? Is there a way to know we are ordering the second edition (e.g. different ISBN etc?)? Thank you :)

The edition with the patterned back has already been released. It is, however, still filtering into the international market. From what I have been told, if you purchase via following sources, you will receive the patterned back.

RavynnePhelan.com (also signed, but shipping is *sighs* expensive)
Blue Angel Publishing
Brumby Sunstate (Australian Distributor)
Book Depository (Listing that cites Blue Angel as the publisher - AWAITING CONFIRMATION)
U.S. Games

At present Amazon U.S. and Amazon U.K. are shipping out the black back version and I do not yet have any information available to me as to when they will begin selling the revised edition. I will update as soon as I know, but I feel it will likely be a few months. I'd say that within the next three to six months the black back version will become harder to get.

The revised edition has addresses the misprint and my OCD issue with the fingerprints appearing on the back of the card. It is also free of the quality issues that affected a portion of the original print run. Everything else is the same - Box, guidebook, card stock.

I have been using the revised edition on a daily basis for readings the last month and have found it to be a lovely deck to work with despite the card stock being more snappy in nature. I'm actually glad the cards are not any thicker, because I have little hands, and a thicker stock would mean a thicker deck and more cards jumping out at me.

(Edited to remove the Book Depository info - please see new update with regards to Book Depository)

I can now also confirm that the Book Depository listing (free shipping) that has the publisher as Blue Angel and says 'Dispatched from Australia in 3 Days' is also the deck with the patterned back.

By chance would you happen to know if there are still revised Faith cards with the plain black backs available from Blue Angel?

I have the original version with the simple black backs, the only thing wrong with the deck is the misprinted Faith card. I have been meaning to write to them to get the correctly numbered card sent out but haven't gotten around to it just yet. Now with the alternate version I'm concerned I may be unable to.

Thank you Ravynne, I can wait for the second edition to filter into the UK market.

Meanwhile, I received a replacement deck from Book Depository and I was hoping to swap the damaged cards from my first order (deck) with the cards from the replacement deck; however they do not align properly with the other cards. In fact they are sticking out from the deck. I imagine this will also be the case when I receive my replacement cards from Blue Angel. I give up now!!! I will just be using the deck with its original cards and eventually I will get the new edition. Anyway, the replacement deck had only minor flaws (apart from the usual Faith card misprint which does not bother me).
