I just bought the faeries' oracle and i'm floored with it because it feels so foreign to me. I love the artwork though!!!! Any suggestions on how you developed a bond with this oracle?

Here's what I did to get aquainted with the faeries :). Actually with every new deck I take out all the cards and look at every one. I pick out the cards that grab me right off the bat. I lay them out in order and then shuffle them and lay them out all in a big grid...just sort of play with them. The book that came with my faeries oracle has a great first chapter with writing exercises and stuff to get you aquainted with the deck. Then I went through the whole deck with the book and worked out the meanings, system, etc. Jessica Macbeth's text is totally hilarious, especially the part about how they divided the cards up into their sections:-D. So basically, I just read the book and studied the cards over a long weekend. It really helped me to just let go and be silly and 'talk' with the faeries, and do the grounding/centering exercises. I also used the deck for my daily card for a few weeks. If your deck didn't come with the accompanying hardcover book I would really suggest buying it cause it really makes the whole faerie experience easier to learn.

Thanks, Elphaba! I've been trying not to use books - but I think in this case you're correct - I definitely need it, LOL.
