This deck is easier to deal with when you place it over night on top of a glass of water, it clears all negative energies,then it will slowly adopt to your own energies

Goldie, I've tried this now. And it seems to work pretty well. One other thing I noticed for the first time also was the deck smells awful. It's weird that I'm just now noticing that as I work with aromatherapy quite a bit and am usually aware of smells. It's got that yucky new card smell. So I've also put a bit of neroli on the edges. So it looks like your water and my essential oil will have all that negative energy disappearing. Thanks for your suggestion.
