Hanson-Roberts Mystery...

I recently purchased the Hanson-Roberts deck, and it has absolutely captured my heart! Though, there is something that has really befuddled me in this deck. I first noticed it on the Ace of Swords card...A small black object within the wreath. I thought at first that perhaps it was just a "blotch"--A printing error, or a mistake by the artist. Then, I noticed an almost identical black mark in the King of Swords card. I can't figure out what it is meant to represent. A bird? A celestial being? If anyone has any insight regarding these marks, I'd love to hear from you!

I have the deck. In both cards, they look similar, as if a teeny blob of ink got in the way.

I would have to agree ... I think it is an ink blotch ... ohhhh well, the deck is still absolutly gorgeous.
