I don't have this deck but I've seen what it looks like online; very beautiful; very gentle. I'm not sure I understand your question about "What does it mean?" or why you're afraid to get involved with it.
Why don't you elaborate. Maybe, even if we don't have the deck, we can help.

hi dare,
I´ve read your post on tarotdecks, and I really think you get some good pointers on your deck there. It seems to me, that what you´re asking is someone who can teach you the intire deck ?
If you think it´s a beutyfull deck, and you wanna learn to use it - I recommand you read the posts you´ve got on tarotdecks once again - they give you bookrecommandations and oppinions high class :)
It´s really only you who can determine wether the deck is any good or not :)

When I come across a new deck (I have over forty), my first two tasks are to try to understand how the deck relates to what I call the 'Spirit of Tarot' and what may have worked through the artist(s).
With the Goddess Tarot (which I do not own), it seems that one of the influences on the artist was to try to depict (beautifully) each card by somehow allowing it to manifest through a goddess form. Hence three things affect one's understanding:
The first is the common element of all Tarot decks: the 22 Major Arcanas, 16 courts and 40 pips.
The second is the manifestation of the Goddess within those cards.
The third is the specific details which only become meaningfully relevent in a reading or meditation.
I wouldn't worry about 'never' understanding it. IF you like it, allow it to unravel itself. If, on the other hand, you have serious hesitations, why not put it aside for a while, and only occasionally just re-look at the cards and compare them with ones you feel more comfortable with?
Best wishes for your deepening understanding...

Hi, Dare
I own the Goddess cards, though I do not yet use them in the traditional sesne. While I've been reading tarot for about four years, I still don't believe that I have the knowledge to read them. It involves a knowledge of goddesses that I don't yet have. for me, I'm too busy trying to work out who each goddess is and what she represents to be able to tap into my intuition. I use simpler cards because the symbolism is much easier for me to tap into. Having said that, I will spend alot of time just looking at the pictures, when I need calming or are in a meditative mood. My advice- if you know alot about goddesses- go for it. If you are more interested in learning tarot basics- try another deck and go back to the goddess cards when you have a basic tarot knowledge. Just my opinion!
PS, this is a really loving gentle forum. Stick around and you'll discover the wisdom and peace here!
Gentle blessings

Dare,
I am sorry I did not respond earlier. I have and use the Goddess Tarot. As a matter of fact, it was my first deck. I love the artwork and that is why I bought it. I believe you said that you were a beginner. If that is so, therein may lie your problem. I had to put this deck away for a while. It is not the best beginner deck in the world. This deck was created to be a gentle, peaceful deck especially for women. The Goddess Tarot, in the creators own words, is meant to empower women. I understand your frustration with this deck though. Some of the cards get pretty far away from traditional meanings, and the Higher Arcana do not have the symbolism of more traditional decks. I would suggest getting another deck (Robin Wood would be my reccommendation) that sticks to more traditional imagery. Once you are comfortable with Tarot in general, try your Goddess Deck again. I would also strongly suggest you by the Workbook that goes with the deck. You can get it online from Kris Waldherr's site, or on Amazon. It will help imensly with the meaning of the deck.
I am sorry if this is not the type of answer you are looking for, but I hope it helps.

First lesson in tarot.
Whatever you are getting from a reading, IS the real reading! I once had an English Literature teacher tell me that you can interpret a book or story however you wish and it will never be wrong as long as you can back up your interpretation with facts and examples from the text. I think that this is true in Tarot as well. When you look at a card, and the picture makes you feel a certain way, or a phrase automatically pops into your head, then that is what you are meant to see. Go through your deck and look at a card. Ask yourself what does it make you feel, and more importantly, why. If you can answer the why, then you are well on your way. Again...strongly recommend the workbook that goes with this deck. Not the textbook, the Workbook. I know it helped me!
Good luck with your beautiful deck!

could you read it they way you want to see it. not what it really represents cause i think mine is like wishful thinking. but im not sure

Yes, dare you can. That's why alot of people say not to read for yourself. Of course, I do it all the time. LOL
But the wishful thinking is something you have to be very conscious of. When I do a reading for myself and am not sure, usually (not always) if I really pay attention and listen to my inner self it tells me whether it's true or wishful thinking. I may not want to hear the answer but it will usually tell me the truth.
Although I have been running into some things lately I can't tell. So I've gone to a friend to help me sort things out. So rely on others sometimes. (like you've done here) It helps!! :)
