Bought myself the Art Nouveau Tarot by Matt Myers. (US Games). Its kinda cutesy, but I needed something inoffensive, as I 'm trading off my Robin Wood.
I'm not sure about this deck. I'll do a few readings before I decide its fate.
Are there any decks out there that I can use without offending female clients (I'm a guy) ?
I have the Rohrig, Thoth, RWS, Cosmic, Art Nouveau, the soon to be traded Robin Wood, and a boring Barnes & Noble deck.
Thanks for any input.

faunabay- I'm in the same boat as you- lot's of lovely pressies, but no decks. I did get some money from relatives, so I'll be able to buy one. :D
Gary- you could try some of the female orientated decks like the motherpeace or the goddess deck. From waht I've seen of the goddess tarot it tends to be very gentle and soothing. I didn't know that women got offended by some decks (!?)

Well, my four main presents were all from my boyfriend, three of them being decks I've wanted for ages:
Crowley Thoth deck
Sacred Rose deck and book set
Manara Erotic Tarot.
Ad he also bought me a gorgous silver and amber ring, which I've had my eye on for a long time. It looks really good on my finger too!

Well i knew hubby wasnt buying me decks as he doesnt know anything about tarot or what i already have/want. He did buy me some of the most gorgeous jewellery ever though and cooked dinner :)
Sadly though i was disappointed with nearly all of my presents. Lots of perfum from family even though they know i dont wear it and a big ol' statue from my mum (nice but i dont like homey gifts and it is a bit big and garish for the room).
A good cd from my other sister though hmm my birthday soon, Im going to make sure i provide people with lists lol :P

None! But that's okay since I bought myself the Tarot Sutra (RW in jewel tones). The hubby got me another bottle of CoCo Mademoiselle and...an MP3 player (doin' the happy-joy dance). My daughter got me Sleepless in Seattle and my son picked out a green silk robe to go with the pj's he gave for my b-day on the 5th. Not a bad haul!

For me this was a wonderful Tarot Christmas, thanks to my wonderful, supportive wife. She gave me 3 decks and 6 books!
Decks: Alchemical, Tarot of the Origins, and World Spirit
Books:
- The Haindl Tarot, Volume 1, by Rachel Pollack
- Navigators Tarot of the Mystic SEA, by Julia A. Turk
- Tarot and the Tree of Life, by Isabel Radow Kliegman
- Tarot and Individuation, by Dr. Irene Gad
- Tarot and the Journey of the Hero, by Hajo Banzhaf
- The Crowley Tarot: The Handbook to the Cards, by Akron & Hajo Banzhaf
The best gift of all is being supported in my interests and endeavors by my wife and best friend. Doesn't get any better than that!

*jumps up and down* I got the Fantastical Tarot and the Egyptian Tarot Cards (from the Bortherhood of Light). I think I just might be in love with the Fantastical deck. It hasn't quite warmed up to me yet but I have a good feeling about it.
But I'm not so sure the Egyptian deck was a good idea. I really am open minded but aparently the Brotherhood of LIght is involved in the occult? I don't really know too much about it 'cept what you hear in movies and stuff so I dunno. What do you guys know?

Strange2: Can your wife talk to my husband??? LOL My hubby is clueless about decks/books.
Actually, my daughers and my mom-in-law spoiled me with books and a "Chapters" certificate for 65 bucks. Yahhhooooooo, people move over. I'm coming (as soon as I get my energy back).

An Amazon.com wish list works great for us! Just click on the items you are interested in, and your family and friends can order from your own personal wish list. The wish lists are also a nice way to mark items you run across, that you want to research further before pursuing.

A friend gave me a lovely deck, Tarot of the Southwest Sacred Tribes: Tribes of Earth. It predominantly depicts the Apache, Pueblo, Pueblo, and Navajo nations of the American Southwest.
I'd not seen this deck before, but I like it quite a lot. I haven't used it yet, but I will. :)

I didn't get any decks but my husband did give me a set of four CD's with programs for Tarot, Astrology, Palm Reading and I Ching.
I did get a nice gift card for Borders Book Store, so maybe I will pick up a book or two from those great looking selections Strange listed.

I was at Barnes-N-Nobel and noticed they had Tarot of a moongarden, which I had been looking for for a really long time. But nobody had it in stock and I feared it had gone out of print! Well there it was and I bought it for myself. It really is beautiful!

I'm a woman and I don't find any of the decks you mentioned offensive (though I have to admit I have not seen the Rohrig in person). The only way I can imagine the decks offending me is if I feel offended by something the person doing the reading says! I'm not saying you're offensive, just that that's the only way I can imagine the decks offending me. I do think it's funny that you think you need "cutesy, Boring" decks to not offend women! I happen to like "motherpeace" and "daughter's of the moon" which apparently a lot of guys , and some women too , are offended by. However, all the guys who I've showed the decks to in person are not offended by them.

santa delivered the animal wise tarot with a special message from the universe - a misprinted card that has the two of shapeshifters (cups) on one side and the tower (a vulture) printed on the back! my friend pointed out while suppressing laughter that there are no accidents. anybody else get this card in this deck or just me?

it was a boon for tarot this year!
my dad brought the marseilles deck (in dutch) back from holland for me.
on boxing day, i was blessed with a B&N gift certificate, so i purchased the connolly deck, with books 1 & 2. i was also given the "tarot of the saints"--very nifty, so far. i also gifted to myself a new 1JJ, so i wouldn't keep using the 1970 edition i already have (a $5 gem i found in a clearance bin). i used the "christmas money" from far-away relatives who have given me twenty dollars every year, for the last thirty years!

Oh I am being naughty! I've got the Universal Waite on order from amazon, and I've just ordered the Visconti Gold and the Classical Tarot from Witches Moon. (I can't make out which version of visconti amazon is selling -their information really is poor.)
I think I'm on a time travel trip as far as Tarot is concerned, but I can't keep on like this. You people are turning me into a Tarot addict ;)
All the best and a happy new year to you all,
FH

I also received 2 books I really wanted, one by Paul Foster Case (it was recommended in the B.O.T.A. thread here), and the Angeles Arien book on the the Thoth deck ... YIPEEE I can't wait, I have so much to color and so much to learn this year HURRRRRAYYYYYY!!!
