Unless this deck is really calling to you, I'd hold off. The SC deck is dicey. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful. A truely lovely, well-thought-out deck with nice symbolism and images. But the cards don't exactly correlate with the usual, RW deck meanings. I like them very much, but discussions on this deck indicate that most folk find it a little hard to read. A little confusing.
Of course, if it calls to you, if you love it, then that cancels out any problems or objections. But if you're uncertain, then I'd wait till you have money to burn.

I have money to burn, its just i am reluctant to spend any, and its the only deck i seem to like anymore. I don't like any other decks really, i mean yah some are nice but none say anything or call out to me. some of the modern ones do, but not really. An unpublished one does kinda but its not published yet. well i guess i'll wait maybe til next week

i have this deck and it seldom speaks to me. it's definitely not one of my favorite.
it seems to love to predict marriages and relationships....good and bad........but that's about all i 'get' from it.

If you've the money to burn and it's the only deck you like, that's reason enough to get it. More than reason enough. A deck that calls to you can really open doors, make the Tarot come alive.
One recommendation, when you get the deck, spend time with it and read through the book carefully. Be open minded, friendly, and flexable with it. Some decks you can take to dinner and movie and they're yours ;) this deck, you need to get to know.

"to rome from poker deck to poker deck"
Maybe that's your clue! Why not check out traditional and modern Italian Tarot decks...
by the way, I'm seriously 'playing' with the mis-spelling of 'roam'. At times, this can give a real break-through to what one is looking for.
If you are serious about obtaining a(nother) deck, but you find that none are currently calling to you, why not make a firm decision to buy one, go to a local store which sells a variety of decks, look through the selection, and choose from the available range... and then either purchase it there and then, or return here and order it through the Aeclectic link and hence also support the site!

I have the Sacred Circle deck. When I went to buy a deck only two called to me. Sacred Circle and Haindl. Sacred Circle called louder so that is the one I bought. I love the deck. I have only done a few readings with it for friends sense I'm just learning but they have been amazing readings.
I also admit that is was not the best deck for me to choose as a beginner. But I'm determinded to learn it!!! And I am learning it.
If it is calling to you as strongly as it called to me then it may be the deck for you. I really think that tarot decks choose us, we do not choose them.

Hi all,
I am finding this is a very controversal deck - so was my first love - the Gendron Deck.
I love this deck..yes some of the cards don't match the traditional but I go with what I see not the traditional meaning or even what is writen on the card (that is the hardest part when reading for someone you say X..and they go "but the card say's Y).
The pictures look different under differnt light..the faces change, one minute 1 symbol is bright, the next time you look at the card another symbol on it stands out..
If it calls you...buy it...but remember the old saying "learn all the meanings then toss the book - traditional book"
Do read the book that came with the deck, it is interesting and it helped me figure out some of the symbols.
Good reading
