Hi Everyone,
I'm interested to know, where do people purchase their decks from? I have noticed in a couple of the "new age" stores I have looked in and bought my first (and only) deck that the variety is small. But I can see that other members of Aeclectic have many decks.
Where did you get them from?
Thanks

Kitty,
On the internet mostly. There are many, many places on line to buy decks. Solandia has links to most decks listed on this site that will take you to where you can buy them. And if you buy from the links on aeclectic Solandia gets a percentage. We're growing so fast she needs it alot, so do that whenever you can. :)
You can always check out ebay.com too. They have a BIG tarot section.
Then we also buy from our local stores who usually can order a deck we see or hear about.
One of the forumites :) here told us a while back that she finds decks at her used book store sometimes. So try that too.
That should give you places to try. Good luck and happy hunting!!!! :P

Hi, Kitty!
Probably the easiest way to buy decks is to find them here on Aeclectic's Deck list and follow the "To Order" links. They usually point to Amazon.com, which, or course, has a big selection.
I've been known to frequent used bookstores, and it's very easy to get your name on a call list for whenever Tarot decks come in.
If you want to buy them in person, the big chain bookstores (Barnes and Noble and Borders here in my area) have good selections. The Borders by my house actually has a big book from which you can special order decks.
I hope you find some great decks! But look out...it's easy to get addicted to collecting!
Peace,
Melvis

Could be a function of the size of your hometown. I've been to a couple of stores here in Chicago that carry dozens of different decks.

Hi, Kitty!
Welcome to the wide world of tarot collecting! I'd like to invite you to visit our website, The Tarot Garden, for information on tarots available for sale. The URL is:
http://www.tarotgarden.com
You can browse our Boutique using the link provided on the homepage, or see a list of our in-stock items that we've logged so far (over 200, and growing quickly) by using the "Inventory QuickPeek" link on that same page. We also have many tarots that we haven't even had time to put into the online database yet, so if you're looking for something in particular that isn't listed, you can write to us at info@tarotgarden.com.
You'll also find links to our website on several of the deck review pages here on Aeclectic.
Hope this helps! Happy collecting!

Hi Kitty,
I would also encourage you to use the links here at Aeclectic to support our growing community. The Tarot Garden is also great, Jeannette gave you the link. Both of these deliver quickly which is a major plus in my book.
Another source I have heard mentioned a lot, but have never personally used is Alida (in Italy I believe), and I am sure someone here can post the link for you. Other decks are ordered through the artists and Solandia has some of those links through Aeclectic as well.
Good luck! deck collecting is way fun *LOL*

Thank you everyone!!!
Funny thing happened after posting my message, I was heading home after work and found a place called The spellbox, it had about 10-15 different decks, of course I came home with a new deck. Guess it's a matter of knowing where to look.
I can see collecting decks becoming a new hobby!!!

Just a word of warning about those shops. I went into my local one and they were asking $92 for the inner child cards!!
I can get it through the link on this site for less than half that price, even taking into account the sad Aussie dollar, and I'm helping Aecletic at the same time.
Mind you those shops are great for an instant tarot fix though ;P

Does Tarot Garden accept international orders?
Cause I live in Hong Kong.
How much would the shipping fee be for overseas orders?
Cause it's too expensive in Amazon.com

Hi! Yes we accept international orders. We buy and sell tarots all over the world. We usually ship by the international postal system cooperative. I compute shipping charges using the United States Postal Service shipping calculator. You can access this information online at:
http://ircalc.usps.gov/
If I can be of further assistance, feel free to write to me anytime at jkr@tarotgarden.com
Happy collecting!

You got great taste Pollux. Cosmic Tribe and World Spirit are two of my favorite decks and I also just traded for the Cosmic (haven't gotten it yet though).
I agree with Liliana. My two cents worth are you ought to get the Cosmic Tribe. It's such a friendly, slightly shocking deck! I think it would suit you!!!! LOL ;D (teasing but serious too - I think you'd really like it)

Thanx guys, I'll look for it.
The problem is they won't let me break the cellophan and go through the cards! :D
I'll look for images on the internet.
A question: Lili, how do you know I mght like it?
Is it because there's people "SKYCLAD" ? :D
Ah! Is Cosmic Tribe published by Llewellyn ? ???
If so, I might have pains to get it! :(

Fauna - I've got the Cosmic, and I think you'll like it. The artwork is better than average, and the minors are reasonably well illustrated. It uses most of the RWS symbology,so you shouldn't have a problem reading with it. One thing that I like about it is the fact that its not a theme deck. You can use it for readings for most anybody.

Well the skyclad people have little to do with it, but its a bright colorful deck, and fun loving, it just reminds me of you. See all of it at
http://www.stevee.com/pages/t.fs.html
Under pictures :) I personally dont like it because its modeled off of Thoth and the minors are sort of pips, but I do like the Queen of Cups :) The Prince of Swords is pretty cute too ;)

Hi blumoon,
Apart from the usual book shops, mail order shops, etc, I got some of my most interesting decks by trading with aeclectic.netties.
