Goddess Tarot or Healing with the Fairies?

I went to a psychic fayre this morning and they had loads of Tarot decks and I just had to take one home. They had samples of some, including showing me a whole deck of Healing with the Fairies that one of the psychics was using. I really liked most of the pictures but I was put off by it being a non-tarot deck. Then I saw the Goddess Tarot and I really liked the picture on the box. They had the book, so I saw the pictures but not in colour and I decided to get it. I'm a bit disappointed with it though, all the brown borders and I can't help wondering if I should have got the Fairies oracle instead. So, should I keep the goddess cards unused and try to trade for the fairies? Or hang on to the goddess, and get the fairies some other time? What would you do? Regards, FH PS, I also got a purple silk scarf, a 'stone' (glass) with a star on it for my stone collection, and had great fun. So I'm pleased I went :)

I don't have the Goddess Tarot (as I've never been drawn to it), but I LOVE my Healing with the Fairys deck! I've also got the Healing with the Angels too! :) I LOVE THESE DECKS! Right at the moment as much as I like my tarot decks, I'm finding that the oracles are working better for me. (shrug) Don't exactly know why, but I'm getting better answers from the oracles than my tarot decks. Or course my tarot decks are NOT going anywhere though! LOL I love them all. :) I would suggest getting the Fairy's deck, but only if the ONLY reason you didn't get it was because it was not a true tarot deck. If it didn't really draw you in I'd say don't worry about it. But as I said earlier I love mine!!! The Fairy's are so lighthearted! They make me feel good just looking at them. I draw one Healing with the Fairys and one Healing with the Angels cards every morning to focus on for the day and every evening to put on my headboard at night while I sleep! They always seem to be right on and help me immensely!

While I don't have the Healing w/Fairies cards, I did just purchase the Goddess Tarot (after having a hard time deciding between this and the Goddess oracle I finally ended up getting BOTH!) I was originally sort of put off by the Ace of Pentacles card I kept seeing as a scan on all the websites, but I've found it's not as bad as I thought. I bet the picture you were attracted to was Sarasvati! That is a beautiful card! LOL I've only done one reading with them so far. I may end up getting the workbook for them. Not sure yet. But so far I love them. I have a little story about them.... I'll try not to be too verbose: I did a reading (Celtic Cross) and then I pulled an 11th card asking "Which of the remaining cards in the deck can most help me to achieve my goal?" I did not realize that I had forgotten to take out the top 2 cards, the cover and little informational card. Well, to my surprise after shuffling and cutting the cards again, the card I drew as my most helpful was the cover card to the Goddess Tarot! 2 funny! I figured that answered my question pretty well, since the odds of me drawing that card out of 70 other possible cards was pretty slim! How cool is that? I would give these cards a chance. And hey, get the other ones too! Why not? I mean we ARE all addicts, that's why we're here isn't it? LOL :D Rhiannon :)

I have both cards and I must say that I have never used the Goddess Tarot at all. It's not as lovely as I originally thought- I'm a little disappointed (perhaps I don't know my goddesses very well). I love the Healing with the Fairies (And the Angels) cards. Yep they aren't tarot. As the name suggests they are an oracle for healing. It really depends on how you use your cards. For divination, the Fairy cards don't work for me, but they excel at self-healing and personal development. I find even just looking through my pack is healing and calming in itself and I know there are a lot of extremely happy users of them. They seem to be contagious, I've bought many for friends and they in turn have bought them for someone they think will benefit. So, I personally prefer the fairy cards, but definately not for divination.

I am going to have to get the Fairies cards I can see that :) I looked through the Goddess Tarot again today, and I'm keeping it. I don't like the brown borders and some of the court cards aren't detailed enough. But there are enough cards that give me that 'wow' feeling for me to want to stay with it. (Yes, Sarasvati was one of them :) ) I don't use cards for divination, although I do use spreads. I see them as a story or a possible way of looking at what is going on. I did Bec's new card spread and got What will our relationship be? Fortune What will you teach me? Star What do you want from me? 9 of Wands. And my spread for today was Theme: 7 Pentacles Beneath the Surface: Queen of Cups Wisdom from above: 6 of Swords And they both felt like such positive groups of cards to work with. So I'll take Rhiannon's advice. I'll give these a chance and I'll get the others too. Only not just yet :) All the best,

I have the Goddess Tarot, and like FH I have often held back on non-tarot decks. I am not all that impressed with the Goddess Tarot, perhaps because I like to see gender balance. I got the deck mainly to do Goddess meditations with or to use in learning more about the various Goddesses. I will never use this deck for divination. My interest in the Healing with Fairies is starting to perk up *LOL*. I have the Faery Oracle by Fraud and LOVE IT!!!! if you have not seen it yet take a look at it. It is amazing and those little guys start visiting right away ;)

there's a "goddess tarot workbook" that might help you with the deck. personally, i couldn't connect with it, but i do find it artistically pleasing. i have gifted it to friends on at least a couple of occasions. :) i am a major advocate of the d. virtue oracle cards. i use the angels and the fairies together--it makes quite a chunky little deck! i, too, typically shy away from oracle decks, because i don't want a deck that requires constant dependence on a book. however, the angels and fairies has worked for me, because i don't even need to look at the booklets. the keywords on the cards are extremely clear, yet flexible. anyway, your question about which deck to keep/get? a "no-brainer"--->get it all!!! ;)

I think Doreen Virtue's Healing Oracle decks are one of the best things going. They're incredibly accurate. I met Doreen recently and she was so sweet. She told me I'm an incarnated angel! :) I think she has a new deck coming out soon. I can hardly wait!

i feel so out of place! i bought the healing w/ the fairies deck a few months back but was so disappointed w/ it that i returned it to the book store. i'd seen some of the pictures on a website before so i felt kinda bored w/ it. it wasn't what i was looking for. i would love to decorate my house w/ some of the picture though! i like the goddess deck for women's issues questions. it's not a deck i use often but i do like the colors=the browns and pinks. the browns make it feel grounded. while it's not gender balanced, it doesn't turn me off like the motherpeace does w/ anger directed towards men. i use it to learn more about goddesses all over the world. i haven't bought the brian froud fairy deck yet even though i'm tempted b/c i've heard so much positive talk about it. i went to the froud site and had a fairy reading done to get an idea. i did think the response was accurate and even adorably funny! i've never been that comfortable w/ the idea of fairies even though i am w/ angels. i haven't found an angel deck i really feel satisfied w/ yet. one will hit me one day! LOL
