I am trading my Tarot Art Nouvaeu for Jema's Medicine Woman, and was wondering if anyone else has it. If so, what is it like? Is is drastically changed from traditional Tarot?
I'm really looking forward to receiving it, but don't really know much about it!

I like the art of Medicine Woman a lot, it's very gentle and calming. But the gender balance of this deck (or lack thereof) really bugs me. It's subtler than Motherpeace or Daughters of the Moon, but particularly in the Minors, there's a feeling that life is about women, and men are basically subservient and kept around for entertainment value. For example, there are cards that show groups of people that have men and women, then there are several with groups of women, but there are no cards that show a group consisting of more than one man (except the Grandfathers card, I think).
Now, this is my perspective, and others will probably disagree, but that's how I see it.
Also, I find personally that the Minors aren't terribly readable from a divinatory perspective.
But I do like the art! :)

Okay, I go it yesterday (Thanks Jema). Here was my initial response, and in fact, the response which I still give even now, after spending about 5 hours looking at this deck:
WOWOWOOWWOWOWOWWOWOWOOWWO!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)
I love the way the Minor Arcana tell a story. It took me a while to figure it out, but that was all part of the fun! I also love the simple yet striking artwork, and the teachings wthin the whole deck, and the renaming of the Majors, which sheds a whole new light on their meanings, and... and... *Kiama jumps up and down* WOWOWOWOWOWWOWOWOWOWWO!!!!

yay! glad you got it so fast!
and that you liked it.
i do still like it but felt it just wasn't for me - a bit pale perhaps, a bit too soft. i wanted a native american deck but later found vision quest that i liked better instead. so i am happy it found it's right owner in you!
i think my fav card in the deck was the sun.

i've never noticed the lack of men, but then i don't look for the gender in a deck. thanks for pointing it out lee. :) good info to pass on to others.

Quite right, faunabay. It only hadn't occurred to me because I'm afraid I wouldn't provide much entertainment! :)

I really like the Sun card in this deck. Much more than I do the Sun card in most other decks! Even the Robin Wood. *Kiama cringes as she hears Faunabay gasp*
