I was thinking about how I always try and buy recycled paper for school, and cards and books from sustainable forests. But then I had a worrying thought: Are all my Tarot decks made from trees from a sustainable forest? I don't know! Does anybody know if any way to find out? Does anyone know of decks made from recycled card? I'm really worried!

Good quetion.
You could always write to the deck publisher about your concerns and questions. I would be interested to hear what responses you get. I think most publisher will write back. I suspect most paper using products use at least a portion of recycled products. Might be 35% or so, but it is at least partly recyled paper.

That's what I'm worried about! I sat there looking at my 44-strong Tarot deck collection, thinking, 'How much of a forest do I have here?!!'

Hi Kiama,
I do not know if there's any recycled paper used in tarot cards. Just think of the usual brigth colours, the coating, etc they get and compare this with the floppy, grayish look of recycled paper.
What about the colours in them and the finish? I think it would also be interesting to know what chemicals they use for that.
