I am currently using the Whimsical Tarot as my main deck. I really love it and I find the fairy tales associated with each card make the meanings a lot fuller for me.
But I'm stumped about the World card. Does anyone know which tale it comes from?
Regards to all,
FH

Hi
I had to buy the book that goes with this deck cause a few of the fairy tales made me wonder as well. The book says the World card is Glinda the Good Witch of the South from the Wizard of Oz.
Hope that helps?

Thank you, both of you :)
That makes sense of the ruby slippers in the top left of the card. I managed to find the other cards on the net, but that one eluded me. Now I just need to brush up on my Wizard of Oz story.
All the best,
FH
PS the other day I drew The Sun as my card of the day, with the High Priestess as 'what's going on beneath the surface' and the World card as 'advice from above'. Is that cool or what?

I thought it was Rose Red. And I have no idea why. But I like what everyone else said about the Good Witch.
I don't remember the story of Rose Red. Just in conjunction with Snow White and Rose Red. Does anyone else remember?
I love the deck too. I just recently purchased it and love it. I use to use Rohrig. But now I have been focusing on this one. It feels right, if that makes sense.

Hi,
I found the text of the Grimm story Snow White and Rose Red at http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~spok/grimmtmp/122.txt
I had never read it before. It is about two good girls and their kind mother, a bear who is friends to them and a dwarf.
All the best,
FH

Razz,
that's quite a difference!!!!! Going from the Rohrig to the Whimsical!!! LOL
I don't have the Whimsical but I have the Inner Child cards. Do any of you have both and what's the differences? If I like the Inner Child would it be a good idea to get the Whimsical or would they be too similar?????

You're right it is so different. But I am enjoying the change and variety. I didn't think I would want to give up the other deck--especially so easily. But now that I have done a few readings with them, they are feeling so comfortable. It amazes me actually.
The one is deck is so surrealist and this is so child-like. Though I do like how they've used the different childrens' tales on each card.
I don't have the other deck you mentioned. Tell me about it. What do you like about it?

I'm a little too late...!
Yes, it Glinda, the good witch from The Wizard of Oz. She is the one who helps Dorothy all through the story and finally tells her that she (Dorothy) had the power to go home all along, but would never have believed her before....
I also use the Whimsical deck as y main deck...I am in love with the illsutrations, and The Lovers (Beauty and The Beast) is just my favourite....
I have the book on order from Amazon, when I get it I will post some of what it says about The World card! :)

Hi Harleen,
Pleased to meet another Whimsical Tarot lover :) I look forward to hearing more about Glinda when your book arrives.
I like the lovers card too. There aren't many cards I don't like in this deck, and I can live with the ones I like less anyway.
All the best,
FH

for the warm welcome...and yes, I shall let you know what it says about Glinda (and any other card you need to know about)
You are very right about the deck...even the cards I am not as wild about, I still find the illustrations to be pretty. I also love how it takes the sting out of traditionally "scary" cards....
hope to be able to discuss the deck more with you soon!
love and light,
Harleen

Wauw that's long:)
Why do people always fall asleep for such a long time in fairytales?
I would love to read that story!
