Im not a fan of comic books, but this deck seems interesting to me. I think it has to do with the detailed environment the cards are in. Ive heard of this deck as male oriented tho. Anyone have it? What are your opiions of it?

I do not have it in my collection as I do not like Comic Style tarot decks but I traded it twice and one of my friends likes it a lot.

This deck is OOP now, I think.. But I was lucky and was in the right place at the right time, and got my hands on it! It is a very nice deck actually... The Minors are a little confusing tho, but the Majors are very pretty, and vivid.

The Arcus Arcanum was one of the decks I regularly used for readings in the late 80s, but never in isolation... I always had a Schaffhouse (Classic) alongside.
I personally found it a quite 'relaxed' deck to read with, and many minor aspects of various depictions were able to easily jump out for clarification of the issues at hand.
I can see how some people may consider it a 'male' deck, but I also know of women who have used it for readings with ease.

I've got AA, and really like it. I've never read with it tho - but it's one of my 19 decks that draws me. I got it on eBay. I find it really easy to tell a story with it - just drawing cards randomly and going from there.

He Liliana
I have the deck and i don't think that it is a male deck. Maybe people think that because the pictures look like the valiant comic books. Wich i by the way liked as a child and i'm a girl...;)
I realy like the majors ,the court cards and the aces but the other minor cards are a bit puzzeling. The LWB states that the artist tryed to give an other look on the old meanings.
I would really like to read the book that was written fore this deck because the LWB gives minimal information. But the book was only published in Germany and i can't get my hands on it.:(

Maan and everyone else,
I just ordered (and got) a copy from AGMuller. They also listed the book too. I sure wish there was an english version - would buy it in a second!!
Shipping was a b*tch, but Jewel and I ordered together and split the shipping costs. That helped alot.
I really like the deck though. It's fun to flip through. I love the comic book artwork style. Haven't tried any readings with it yet but it seems like it'd be a fun, teasing type deck. :)

i have a copy of AA in german. i don't know a word of german but to me the imagery is clear enough there isn't a language barrier. i don't use it often but i consider it a keeper. i like the comic book style art. it brings back pleasant memories of reading the prince valiant comic strip as a child. i was also brought up loving comix. i like many styles of art so it's generally not hard to please me. ;)
