Hi everyone! My first time posting. Your site comes highly recommended and I've had so much fun exploring it!
I've been using good ol' Rider Waite cards for a while now and would like to try a new set. I love a lot of the ones mentioned on the site but has anyone ever seen/heard about a Biblical themed
set?
I can see Biblical theme's on some of the cards (The Lovers, The Devil, The Judgement, The Tower etc.) and think it could easily be done. Before I create my own I thought I'd see if it had already been attempted.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Gypsy! Welcome to Aeclectic. On the subject of biblical tarot, I have a few recommendations: The recently published 'Tarot of the Saints' features a few biblical scenes. It has a very strong Roman Catholic flavor, as you might imagine. 'The Master Tarot' is another deck featuring some biblical images. I don't really consider this deck a tarot per se, as much as an oracle deck. 'The Connolly Tarot' is a really bright and cheerful deck, which has a strong Christian feel, and a few images which may be interpreted as biblical. Hope this helps, if I think of any more, I'll let you know. Bye for now.

Hi!
I don't have this my self, have actually only seen it through the links below, but there is one called the Master Tarot, which is supposed to be based upon the life of Jesus. It seems to be very different from a traditional Tarot, maybe this isn't even to be considered Tarot at all. But you can always check out:

I just got Master Tarot through a trade, and I love it but I dont say its a Tarot. Majors are all renamed, some havea vague senseof traditional eaning but a lot dont. Courts are people cards which associate in no way to regular courts, but they are really nice and they balancea male with a female. For theminors there arenosuits, just cards numbered 1 to 40, but each is a quote from Jesus, tho some are not from the Bible, some are from Apocrypha and such. Still I like it :)

Thanks everyone! I looked at the Aeclectic list and missed the Master Deck.
Jenni-Li, thanks for providing the links. I followed everyones advise and bought the one featured in the first link. I'm not sure if it is the same deck featured in the second link (as I didn't like the images as much) but I'm anxious to get it and take a closer look.
Since it is more of an oracular deck I may just combine the decks and substitute certain cards for the ones I like. Have any of you combined decks to create your own or are you strict stick-to-the-deck collectors? (say that 3 times fast!)
hehe

Hi!
Hope you'll like the deck when it arrives, because it actually IS the same one in both links... ;)
I've often thought about combining cards from different decks, because you know, there are always (??) one or two cards in a deck that just don't feel right. And even in a deck that doesn't feel right as a whole I think there are always a card or two that are perfect!
I'm not sure it would work outside theory, since the decks are so different, they have different format, they are printed on different card stock - etc. If I was to do that, I think I'd have to scan and print the ones I wanted, as to make my very own deck - not pick out favourites from the old decks and put together...
Besides I think that once I'd put them back as they were, they wouldn't be the same, and I wouldn't want that to happen...! :D
Light and love,
Jenny :)

Ive thought about getting Tarot oft he Saints and replacing all the majors, or at least a majority of them, with the Majors from the Angel Tarot by the same artists since Im more interested in Angels than Saints, actuallyI may of considered choosing a few Majors from the Winged Spirit too, but Ido believe all thedecks are different sizes, I bet it would work well for me tho, maybe when I save up and get all three of these decks I'lltry it, wouldnt it be funny if it is my deck :)

Thanks! I'm thinking the same way you are Jenny-Li in that I could possibly scan the images to create a deck that is the SAME SIZE and weight so certain cards are not chosen based on the difference.
Liliana - I think we are on the same page too as I was thinking of the Saints deck as an option but I'm not catholic, so the Saints really don't mean anything to me. The Angel deck you mentioned sounds interesting though.
As I mentioned the Rider Waite is the only deck I own but I would love to use a collection of images that I personally enjoy and mean something to me without compromising the integrity of the reading.
Thanks for your input!
Conclusion - Must buy more decks! hehe
