Well, it was so weird today! I went into town with my boyfriend, cuz he had to go to hopsital there, but as we were walking past this really cool bookshop, this huge group of excited Japanese Tourists thronged past, dragging me with them into the shop! Confused and a bit ruffled, I wandered upstairs, and found myself, entirely by accident, in the Mind, Body, and Spirit section. I was still confused, and so I stood still for a minute, trying to regain my composure, but, realising that I looked at bit silly just standing there, I pretended to pick up a book.. Instead of picking up a book, this box jumped into my hand! I was startled, and stepped backwards, stumbling as I did so... I tried to break my fall by grabbing onto the paying counter I was falling towards, and as I did, the box landed on the counter, as did a crisp £20 note from my wallet... The cash assistant obviously thought that I actually meant to buy this weird item, and started selling it to me, taking my lovely money and putting it into the till! Well, I stood there gobsmacked! As I did so, that group of Japanese Tourists all thronged up to me again, thinking I was somebody famous, and started taking photos of me! I was flatterd, and posed for them, playing along with it! But, they all got a bit too excited, and one of them fell onto a light stand, which fell against a cupboard... And on top of the box I had just purchased, which now had the Feng Shui Tarot deck in it, fell the un-boxed Rohrig Tarot! Gosh, well, I was very shocked! And suddenly, I felt a sneeze coming on, so I reached in my pocket for a hankey, but as I pulled out the hankey, another crisp £20 note fell from my pocket, onto the counter! Before I knew it, I had purchased a Rohrig Tarot deck (With a 20% discount cuz it had no box!) and the Feng Shui Tarot deck, and was walking down the road with my purchases swinging happily from my hand in a lovely beige carrier bag.
Damn those Japanese Tourists!
Kiama, the proud owner of 48 decks!

Kiama...
Next time you see the tourists, open the hood of a running auto, and yank out a spark plug wire, you will feel much better.
Trust me...

Phenix, I absolutely ADORE the Rohrig! I haven't put it down all day! Its so full of symbolism, but its beautiful too, and realistic. Only problem is, its missing the 10 of Wands. Do you reckon if I wrote to the publisher company, and asked them nicely, they'd send me a 10 of Wands card?

It sounds like a perfectly synchronistic moment to me, Kiama! LOL
I really like the Rohrig, too, I just got it recently - I thought it would be a deck that my husband would like, he's really into racing, and the Chariot *is* an F1 car, after all.
(well, he didn't *quite* buy it, but he played along with me)

I believe every single word of it. How awful for you to be forced into buying two decks against your will like that. Just as well the Rohrig turned out so well, eh? ;)
Btw, hope you get your ten of wands.
Regards,
FH

Now that is a great story, too bad it'd never work for me. I usually just tell Dh "I work, I want it, I'm getting it!"

The only things which do this sort of thing to me are:
Tarot stuff
Crystals
Books, especially fantasy ones and especially so-called children's fantasy books
Chocolate.
They tend to accompany the jumping into my hand with a plaintive little 'buy me, buy me' cry of longing. How can one resist?
Not sure what the first three and the chocolate have in common. Is chocolate actually a substance imbued with mystical qualities? Can it help protect one against negative energies and at the same time delight the senses and engage the intellect? A mystery.

Chocolate is brain food! It lifts the mood and contains a chemical that our brains make when we first fall in love.

I have had similiar experiences. Although mine involve trained flying monkeys hitting the "add to cart" button on my computer while I sleep.
It happens all the time in the summer, because I sleep with some of the windows open and them little buggers just fly right in through the mesh of our bug screens and order me tarot decks I happen like out of spite......
It is just so wierd that they can guess my passwords at amazon.com
