I've got the Moon Garden yay!

I've just got the Tarot of a Moon Garden in a trade and I am so pleased with it :) I didn't expect to like it so much, I was even thinking I might trade it on as soon as I'd got it, but no way!

Does anyone else have this deck and do you use it much? I've only looked through it so far, so I don't know what it would be like to work with.

But I am so excited. And it came in a lovely home made bag that is just right for its colours. Yay!

i have the moon garden, too. i haven't used it much but i really like it a lot. the images and colors are beautiful. i don't know why i don't use it for reading. i suspect it's b/c i'm so focused on using the hanson-roberts for reading. but w/ the right person who likes fantasy, it would be great for reading. i keep looking for a copy of the book since mine didn't come w/ the book. i don't need the book to read it but sometimes it's good to get in the author's head to gain new insight. enjoy your new deck!!

It /is/ a pretty deck isn't it? I like the Hanson-Roberts, too, it was my first deck, but I'm using mainly Whimsical at the moment.

I asked the Moon Garden what our relationship would be and I got

What do you want from me? 8 Pentacles
What will you teach me? 9 Swords
What will our relationship be? King of Wands.

So I took it that I'll have to put a bit of work in learning this deck, and it might take me places that are a bit scary, but it will be a creative, exciting time with it.

I feel quite excited just thinking about it :)

All the best,

FH

it strikes me that the cards are suggesting you may have to face parts of your shadow but your reward will be more creativity. do you have tarot shadow work by christine jette? it might be a good one to work w/ this deck. i hadn't really thought about it but moon garden suggests the night. night=shadow self. maybe i should look at this. i can't seem to find a deck willing to do shadow work w/ me but i keep getting messages from the universe--work on your shadow self!

what do you think of the whimsical? i'm thinking about getting that one next. i love fairy tales. fairy tales and archetypes work closely together.

That makes sense. I'll look out for that book.

I /love/ the Whimsical tarot, it is my main deck at the moment, I find it really speaks to me through the fairy tales. For example the king of swords - he is the woodcutter from the Red Riding Hood tale. A few tales are obscure, and a few cards I don't totally like, but as a deck I just love it.

All the best,

I love the Tarot of the Moon Garden. It's my main deck, the one I consistently use for answers.
It was the first one I ever bought, a gentle slide into tarot. I consistently come back to it.
while it does show the negative cards, it does it in a fairly gentle fashion. As you know, it's a RWS clone, and very easy to read for this reason.

I'm really starting to consider getting this deck. I read a review of it that described the book that comes with it, and that sounds extremely well done. The art has a fluffiness to it that turned me off at first, and I must admit I find unicorns sort of silly; but I like the fact that everything is night scenes, and I see that the glow given to the creatures on the cards does make them look like they are in moonlight. I don't generally go in for decks that are quite this fantasy-oriented, but I may make an exception...

I have this deck coming in a trade. I really like the artwork. I was wondering for those of you that have the companion book would you recommend it?
