More about Rohrig

Rohrig seems interesting to meas well (Kiama's fault). I really like most of the art, and the notebook paperI think will distract my over analytical left side brain while my right enjoys the art. But theres a lot of random floating body parts that Im not sure I like, and it seems like the art steers toward one interpretation of the cards and makes it hard to see some of the other interpretations. Also, Id like to work through Tarot for Yourself, but with the way the majors are designed Im not sure if I could manage to do entering the cards with it, tho others say its good for meditation. What do you owners of it think?

I ordered this deck last week for $10 for the set on the site someone from here recommended. Although it hasnt arrived yet I'm hoping I like this deck. I've been trying to choose decks that I'm not embarrassed if my 9 or 10 year old daughters walk in the room while I'm reading them. I heard someone write about disembodied body parts before. Can someone please elaborate more about this and what cards and parts they involve? I have some idea. I'm hoping this deck isn't too graphic that I can't show my girls it. I love the cards I've seen on sites so far and a bare but or breast looking sensual isn't too bad. I just don't want anything looking porno!

No, it's not like porno at all. The disembodied body parts that Liliana is referring to are the random breasts floating around the deck. But at least it is tasteful. I happen to LOVE this deck. I connected with it in a way that I haven't before with any other deck.

i love this deck, too. it's sensual but not pornographic. i'm very prudish as far as nudity, etc. is concerned but the deck doesn't offend me. the art is probably the best i've ever seen in a deck. the book is great, too. i find the deck so intense tho that i have to be in the right mood to read w/ it. it's not a light fun deck like the universal or hanson roberts or robin wood. be prepared to be blasted by a visual feast!!!!!! the images are very realistic.

Liliana  23 Apr 2002
yeah the realism is what I love with it, andIve already decided that Im not going to use reversals with it, it has such a dark, heady feel that reversals would just ruin the effect I think, each card seems to incorporate both the positive and negative aspects well enough that reversals seem redundant

I recieved the Rohrig Tarot. It is beautiful. I love the artwork and started reading the companion book. The floating breasts on some cards are a little different but not offensive. I'm glad I got it.

This deck is on the TOP of my Tarot Deck want list... I just wish I could find it available in Australia!!!

Liliana  24 Apr 2002
go get it from powells kaye, it will cost 10 dollars to ship, but it only costs 10 for the deck and book set, when the deck alone is usually 25, just make sure theres a copy left for me to get next week

Summerdream  24 Apr 2002
I ordered my set from Powell's for $10 book and deck and it came in excellant shape and was packed very well. I couldn't believe it.

Liliana  24 Apr 2002
yeah I was waiting to find out if it actually was the entire deck and book from you, together they would be 40 dollars, so Im going to order it as soon as I get my money early next week. Worst that could happen is that I end up not clicking with it, giving me a very nice set to trade :)
