hi everyone! just wanted to share.... I've been bad...haha... I just came back from the bookstore with THREE new books and a new deck. thank god(dess) for visa!
the deck I purchased is the Universal Tarot, not the Universal Rider Waite, but it's a Rider Waite Clone. I've only flipped through it once -- and the first thing I noticed is that the people all look mean! but, I'm excited to work with it, and am hoping it will be come "the" deck...
does anyone have this deck? do yah like it?

I understand how you feel, its so hard to go into the shops and not come out with something :)
I don't have Universal but I like it much more than Rider, I think you will enjoy it.
Good Luck

Greetings joya.
I've bumped up a post about the Universal Tarots (by De Angelis) written by me. :)

thanks aenox, but I am actually talking about the "Universal Tarot" by Lo Scarbo (or something like that....) not the Universal Rider Waite. It's still a RW clone, but there's a difference in illustration....

I heard some of the symbolism of the Rider Waite is messed up in this version, I heard the Fool has a red rose instead of white for instance

Hi, folks --
I think there is some confusion here. I think joya250 and aeonx are talking about the same deck, the Universal Tarots by De Angelis, published by Lo Scarabeo, which is a completely redrawn version of the Rider-Waite, and *not* the Universal Waite deck published by USGames, which is a recolored version of the standard Rider-Waite drawings. Unless I'm totally confused... :)

That's exactly what I was thinking lee. They're talking about the same deck.
I had this one and really liked and worked with it for awhile, but then it got put away - not being used. So I decided to trade it to someone that would actually use it. Get it a good new home. :)
It's a cool deck though. I always thought of it as a Rider Waite from another dimension! LOL

hi. sorry aeonx! same deck, you're right. thanks for bumping up that thread for me. how's it going with the deck... you using it? are you dissappointed in it, like you seemed in your orginal post?
haven't used it yet.... though I did "smudge" it with sage, and slept with it under the pillow last night. haha. hadn't even done that before, but I figured, I might as well start off on a good foot with this deck.
