i received the cosmic tarot today(not to be confused w/ the cosmic tribe). i've nearly bought this one 10x. glad i finally did. amazon has a good price for the book/deck set that's cheaper than what i could get offline even w/ postage. i like pen and ink water color washes and that's how this one is done. i haven't figured out what movie stars which card ppl are supposed to be yet but i may post the answers for inquiring minds when i figure it out. the deck appears well researched and the book interesting but you shouldn't need it to read the cards if you are familiar w/ rws and can read faces and body languages you see in cards. the ppl do look real and not ken and barbie-ish. the style reminds me of old style movies prior to the sixites. i think my fav card so far has to be the high priestess. almost all the ppl are tinted another color except the 9 of pentacles which is flesh tone not blue or pink. i wonder if the artist has a reason for this. just curiosity b/c a blue HP doesn't bother me. i'm always looking for a deeper meaning than "b/c i wanted the HP to be blue". i'm interested in any other experiences w/ this deck so we can compare notes.

that's wonderful, pollux! i can't wait until we can compare notes. this is a great deck. i know you will like it. the energy is nice and it's not too rws. the devil card is also good.

This is a beautiful deck and I always get very accurate readings with it. I am glad to see others talking about the Cosmic tarot. I now use this deck to do most of my readings for others. The readings are so intersting with this deck. I still have not figured out all the movie stars either Truthsayer. Working on that one.

Hi Kiama, Yes, there are at least Charles Bronson, Rita Hayworth, Clark Gable and even Leonardo di Caprio in it. But pl do not ask me the who is who as I traded my Cosmic to faunabay. I just couldn't click with it, sorry.

there are 2 books to the cosmic tarot. one is by jean huets which does not describe who's who. the other is called i think cosmic tarot signposts. you can get it from amazon for $10 but it takes over a month to get. i'll probably order it tho. i'm very curious and i do think i'm clicking w/ this deck.

I have the Cosmic Tarot Signposts book, I will check and see what it has (have not read yet). When I received the deck and looked through it one of the things that really drew me to it is the connnection between the cards. Take a look at the 4 queens, one of them (Swords I think) has a window in the background ... now take the Lovers card and put is beside her ... it is the Lovers outside her window. Similarly, if you look at the landscapes you can begin to see certain connections, angles and patterns. When I get more time this is one of the aspects of this deck I really want to look into. Very detailed, great deck!

Hmm.... I'm gonna have to take another look at this deck I think! I hadn't notice there were any celebs in it... Although I think the only name I recognised in the list Catlin gave me was Leo DiCaprio! (I recognise Clark Gable's name, but wouldn't be able to point him out if I saw him! :eek:) Kiama

yes, jewel! that's one of the things i love about this deck! it's like "reflections" in the background referring to another card that is connected to the one one you have. i've never seen that in a deck before but i think it's so neat and well thought out. it pulls the major and minor arcana together in an interesting way. i also find the faces and body language in the court cards pretty self explanatory. so often it's difficult to glean any info from a court card but you can these. btw, if you can find the names of the stars out of your signposts book then i might need to buy one myself unless you can think of a very good reason. ;) you know what a pushover i am!! LOL

kiama, have you ever seen the american classic movie,"gone with the wind"? i believe it's the movie clark gable is best known for. he played rhett butler. the leading lady was vivian leigh--scarlette o'hara. have you ever heard the immortal words he said from that movie,"frankly, scarlett, i don't give a damn!" i'm sure you could easily do a search on that movie and come up with a picture of him. btw, if you decide to watch the movie, be prepared for a long one. i think it's 4+ hours long but definitely a great one.

I bought a Tarot CD ROM mainly 'cause it featured this deck, along with two others. The deck is on my wish list and I really like the Devil. I thought the deck was made before Leo DiCaprio rose to fame? Are you sure he is in it?

Hey Truthsayer! I forgot to look through signposts last night, but will do it tonight and let you know. I think it is supposed to have the names of the celebs .... Perhaps when I get into exploring this deck we can look at the tie-ins between the cards. Like you said, it goes to show how much thought went into the deck. I really need to spend more time with it because I really really like the deck a lot.

I FOUND ONE! I think I saw Sean Connery as the King of Wands... And I think I found Clark Gable in the King of Cups.... Not sure. Is that Clark Gable and the woman who played Scarlett O Hara in the 2 of Cups? This is fun! Kiama

I couldn't think of anything tackier than putting celebs in a tarot deck but somehow in this deck the artest has really made it work! (Especially since they are not all that obvious...) Hmmm... anotherone for the wishlist... The CD ROM just isn't enough...

Maan he may be the Prince of swords not sure I try not to connect with the Hollywood side of this deck cause alot of the people I see in the deck look of Latino descent. That is why I like this deck so much I mostly read for hispanics which that is what I am and the darkness of some of the people on the card attracts alot of my clients to the cards in a way I have not seen with other decks. Not that I don't do readings for other nationality that is just the kind of clientell that comes to me plus I am hispanic so I do alot of readings for my family and they are very attracted to some of the Hollywood faces and the different ethnic look of this deck :0) :TKNS
