I like it a lot too!--It reminds me a lot of Tarot of the Spirit.
I'm thinking about buying it. *sigh* thinking about it...who am I kidding? I'm a card-carrying member of taroholics. *bella, searching for a credit card that isn't maxed out from buying other tarot decks*
thanks rostie :)

I NEED this one, and not one of those passive need it when i get some cash, I need it now, but i dont have any money for it now. This is a soul mate deck to MY deck, which is the Rohrig. I went to the site and compared all the minors anditslike the Rohrig is the exoteric and this is the esoteric, the Yin and theYang expressing 2 sides ofthe same thing. I cant wait to do a comparite tarot reading using the Rohrig and this one. Hopefully i can order it next Friday but Im already spending 30 dollars in decks this month hehe

Well I relented!
I have ordered this deck as well. For such a long time I have been looking for a deck that seems more "intuitive". The artwork on it is splendid and did you all take a look at the original oils?
I want this deck an now I shall have it.
If any of you get it before I do let me know what your thoughts are about it. I like it because it is a modern Thoth based deck (about time). I think readings for others with this deck is going to be very strong. I'll let you know.

I have just been informed that my "I Am One" deck is on it's way. *smiling with glee* Hopefully it won't take too long to get from there to here (sleepless nights)
And guess what? The artist is going to be writing a book on this deck as well. I can't wait for that to come out. I'll keep you guys informed.

I didn't have a choice. I do collage art (hobby) and I'm working on something with pears. So to have a whole suit of pears just made this deck totally necessary.
At the same time, I signed up for a Yahoo Wallet. Will this get me in even more trouble?
Seriously, there are some totally gorgeous cards that I couldn't resist.

I have been exchanging emails with the artist of this deck, I told her that we were all talking about the deck and sent her the link to this thread and this is what she had to say:-
"......I didn't know you are all talking about IT...Kind of feeling shy.
You can read the story of how this deck came to life in this link: http://www.iamonetarot.com/review.html
As of the "tarotforum" friends, they should probably know that the artist (in this case) is alive and...well. Thus, while putting the first book together, they are more than welcome to be a part in the making of...The "I Am ONE" Tarot. Let the ONE's comes up for themeselves. Each question will bring up an answer for our future generations to come...(what else would you DO for your children...if you had any?).
I have 3 children and I want their children to be able to find answers to THEIR questions - when the time comes......"
I thought it would be kind of neat to interview her and post that into here for you all to read. Is that okay with ya'll?

sounds good to me, MM. no one's ever done an interview on a tarot deck before so you might want to check w/ solandia to see if there is a way the interview can be done to get the most exposure. i believe there is already a review done of it at wicce's.
i have to agree w/ all of you. it is a beautiful deck that i must own! since i don't have a credit card i think i'll contact the arthur/artist, too to see about other arrangements. now i have to choose b/t this and the wm blake this month. <<<<<<>>>>>> truth is hoping that hubby will go ahead and win the lottery or publisher's clearing house...surely, he must understand her need to collect as many beautiful tarot works of art as possible!

rostie, i don't know really, i just ordered it and it only says some added tax.
but i always count 9 or 10 dollars US for shipping, that's normal to europe.
so that makes it about 30 US $. like 32 euro, damn the dollar is going up, that's bad for us deck ordering people from outside US.

All I can say is, I'm thrilled this deck has finally been published. I have had an original copy of it for years (laser printed on a computer.) I obtained it from the artist's (Maya Britan) ex-husband. It is without a doubt one of the most powerful decks I have ever come across and I highly recommend it to all collectors. I just ordered the published deck and can't wait to get it. I also will have a hard time waiting until the book comes out. I have pages of text from years ago (I believe from Maya Britan's tarot workshops) that reveal extraordinary depth and meaning related to the cards. I only hope the published book will come close to containing all the information -- and hopefully some new insights as well. The artwork is exquisite -- unbelievably fluid and saturated with color. It is a must-have for collectors!!

Is there any way you can share those pages of text with us?
Maybe by xeroxing and haing interested people send a self adressed stamped envelope and a little money to handle copying fees (unless you hae acess to a copier) Libraries here charge like a nickle a sheet.

Mine came in the mail!!! I went home at lunch to pick up something else, and there it was!
No, I haven't opened it yet, because I had to go back to work right away and I didn't want to rush. But tonight after work the deck and I are going to Starbuck's...
I will say that the box is very pretty, it has a LWB, and the backs of the cards are a cool black and white design.
I wonder if I can go home early...
Since so many of us are ordering this deck at the same time, perhaps we should start a study group for it.

I've been playing with the deck, and like it alot. The artwork, especially the minors, is beautiful.
My one question regards the LWB. The history of tarot in it says that Moses was a master tarotist. I'm willing to suspend disbelief to a certain extent to go along with the fun, but this is just too farfetched for me. (I don't mean that I don't believe in the tarot, it's just that most experts agree that the history is very vague.)
Have any of you heard of this before?
I do still love the deck, of course.

I am in the process of doing an in depth interview with Maya Britan, the creator of this deck. Hopefully this interview will open up a whole load of new ideas and appreciation to not only her artwork but her contribution to the Tarot world.
She is a wonderful, insiteful person.
The interview will be posted on this forum shortly.

Cocobird:
Your point is well taken. The LWB accompanying this deck perpetuates a counterfeit history based on fantasies which was cooked up by French occultists during the last quarter of the 18th century, and has been making the rounds ever since. I find it very sad that such nonsense is still circulating, as it gives skeptics ammunition to fire at those of us who know and love tarot.
However, I must take exception with your observation that the history of tarot is "vague," even though this is a position taken even by those who know better. Stuart Kaplan, for example, begins Volume II of his Encyclopedia of Tarot by saying "The origins of tarot are obscure," but then he goes on in the next 300 pages to present a marvelously detailed history of the origins of the cards, and provides every known piece of documentary evidence pertaining to their early development.
The history of the cards is anything but vague. What's unclear, and hard to understand, is why the cards possess an ability to function as an oracle.

I don't have it, but from looking at the scans, I don't like all the writing either, and that will probably prevent me from ever ordering it.

i have been looking closely at some majors, there is a lot of symbolism in these cards, there is more to it then you might see on first look. powerful images.

i got this deck today and it looks wonderful and i think i might even use it!
the booklet however just has to go.
as for the keywords - i don't really care, lots of decks have keywords: Gill and Thoth for example.
the artwork is stunning, however - a few cards seem a tiny bit blurred, but i am thinking that is not really a printing problem but just how the art is.
oh and one more thing, the artist for this deck is indeed a very friendly and nice lady. she sent me the deck even before i had fixed my credit-card to pay her for it.
that is customer service for ya:)

Taking another look at this deck online... I think I need it because I really love the artwork! Although this may well be the *first* deck that I trim the borders off of... I just can't stand all that unnessecary writing, one of my worst Pet Peeves! But fixable...

You know, I have to agree with you Kayne about the writing on the borders. It's too much! The pictures have so much motion to them and quotes at the bottom just seem to stop the motion cold.
I don't know if I could actually take a scissors to a Tarot Deck, though! Yikes! Maybe I could use a paper cutter at work and make it more "surgical." :D What kind of anesthesia do you use on a Tarot Card? ;)
Gotta go put this one on my Amazon wish list!
Peace,
Melvis

i decided to just throw myself into this deck and when a friend asked me to do a reading for her i said yes, even though it was quite some time since i did readings for others. my first try was with this deck and the osho zen in a comparative reading (more on that in the readings forum) it didn't work.
so i tried again with just this deck and i just put away the LWB and went with the flow and it worked perfectly!
when i got it i expected this to be one of my solitary decks - one just for me and for meditative exercises - but this deck is a joy to read with in "real" readings too. can't wait to try it out "live" in a face to face reading.
the images just sets of a flow of associations and deep memories.
the words on the bottom is not just words - they are battle-calls! affirmations of your spirit, from your spirit.
at least it worked for me. anyone else tried it out in a reading yet?
