Ok... this is sad. Three decks in two weeks. But I got it and I promised Kiama I would get it before my two week holidays were over. The Robin Wood tarot!
And, despite all the reasons I have been putting off getting it - when I used it, I loved it! It was the sort of deck that as soon as I saw it, I thought - I could read with this! (unlike the Aquarian which is pretty and all... but I have not done a reading with it yet...)
Thanks to everyone for forcing me to buy it!!! :P (Of course I won't be able to afford to eat all week now...)

Hi, kayne!
Why eat when there's a Tarot deck to play with???? ;)

I Agree with Jimilyn - food is just for weaklings! :D
I'm getting more and more fond of my own Robin Wood deck, didn't like it at all at first, but I think that was just me being cranky and low on energy. The deck is great, that's all I can say!
Congratulations to you, Kayne, for giving in and getting it! :D
Light and love!
Jenny :)

Robin Wood was my 3rd deck to own but the first one I could actually "see" the meanings and do readings with!! I just love my deck and would NEVER give it up. I think everyone needs to own it! :)

Hi, Kayne!
Congrats on getting the deck! You may have posted on this, but can I ask what the other two decks were and how you're getting on with those?
Eat? Didn't you know that's not an option for collectors?!

Enjoy your Robin Wood deck, Kayne! Has it replaced your Cosmic Tribe yet?

LouiQ: The other two decks were the Rider Waite Smith which is a great study deck but the pictures are ugly... and the Aquarian... which I like the design/style of but just have not been that motivated to read with it... But the Robin Wood! :D
Kiama: Hmm... has it over taken the Cosmic Tribe? I thought Osho Zen would at first... but no way. Then I thought the World Spirit would... I like it and tried... but nope. As for the Robin Wood... too early to tell, perhaps it may be the deck I use to read for others and the Cosmic Tribe will be my personal deck... Ask me again in a month and I will tell you. (And wipe that smug look off your face, young lady! :P)

Couldn't agree more about the artwork on the standard RW deck, Kayne - it does nothing for me at all - but I have come to terms with the Universal which is the one I use if I'm studying a book using the RW as "standard". Haven't got the Aquarian (probably only a matter of time, though!), but I can understand why the Robin Wood's grabbed your attention.
I guess it's just as well that there's so many decks out there for all of us tarot-holics!

Congrats, you'll never regret your affair with the Robin Wood deck.
I am still in love with mine although it took quite a while until I got it.

Kayne congrats on your new deck! The Robin Wood is definetly a wonderful deck all around. I had to chuckle when I saw Kiama's question of the Robin Wood replacing your Cosmic Tribe *LOL* ... for readings I used the Robin Wood pretty much exclusively for 7 years ... until I got the Cosmic Tribe *LOL*. I do use the Robin Wood for readings for others, but I now use the Cosmic Tribe for me personally (what you suggested you might do). Both are great decks, and very different. Have fun and welcome to taro-holics ~giggles~

Well, ok...
Someone/Something got you buying the RW.
I (unadvertedly and unintenionally, be it clear) got you buying the Aquarian.
Now Kiama got you buying the Robin Wood.
I think it is high time you listened to Liliana then!!! Buy the Rohrig, and everyone in the Harem will be content of having affected you... We might take measures if you refuse, beware, and dare to oppose the Harem Faculty higher will... :P
Well, I like this deck, especially the Ace of Pentacles!!! I don't have it, and I am put off by the price... And also, I couldn't see so many pics around yet... I wonder what Kiama will drive me to till next year, and what she will make me buy when we go to Glastionbury!!! ARGH!!! *Pollux collapses for fear*
(And, I think that this deck could be a nice way to stress my turning to PAGANISM... ;))

I've seen total newbies use the Robin Wood deck & get solid answers to their questions--it's an extremely easy deck to use.
Some decks need the questions to be very specific (my Haindl !) but you can be a lot more general with the Robin Wood deck & get good results. It's very flexible. The book helps expand on your readings (the artist/author gave a better explanation about what is shown on each card) so I'd recommend getting that to round things out.

You are very good at this resistance thing... Well... *Kiama's voice takes on a stong German accent* Ve haff vays ov making you BUY!

Okay, I'm curious. I don't think I like the deck, so I haven't bought it. On the other hand, since everyone seems to love it, maybe I need to buy it and play with it after all.
So if you didn't like it at first, why did you buy it? (I only need to know this to justify why I might be it, you understand). :-)

Hi!
I did like it at first, from the pics I'd seen on the net etc, but just didn't click with it once I had it in my hands. From the start that is - as I said, I like it more and more, the non-clicking-part was probably more due to ME than due to the deck...! :D
Getting along with a Tarot-deck is so much more than just "liking" it, I think - that's why it can be so tricky, finding JUST the right one! (And that's what's so fascinating with different decks!! :))
Light, love,
Jenny :)

The main reasons that put me off this deck originally was the bad early 80's hair and style and it is also quite expensive here compared to some other decks (nearly $50 Aussie dollars instead of just over $30... and that is just for the deck...) Also, I particularly like decks with more modern imagery but there are just not enough of those around. (except of course the Rohrig...)
When I actually got the cards I had friends with me so I tested it out on them by giving them a reading (which I never usually feel confidant to do before I really know the deck.) And the images just sang for me :D I got over the 80's hair...
Go on Cocobird55 - just get it!!!
(OK LILI AND KIAMA!!! I AM GOING TO ORDER THE ROHRIG!!! Now stop picking on me! :P)

The Rohrig's art is so vivid, it seems like it would be a breeze to use... and the artwork shows such incredible skill... but yeah, the style of it just throws me. It's on the super-long list.

Okay, I got it. I haven't had a chance to study it yet, but just flipping through the cards made me understand why people like it so well. The images are very clear to me.
I'm glad I got it!
