Anybody else got this deck? I'm in lurve - although I've no idea if I could work with it! Is there a book anywhere or do I have to get a general book on the artist and his work?
I did the "how will we be together"? spread and apparently it's going to teach me 9 Swords (well, it's definitely a "darker deck" so I'm expecting a look at the "underbelly" - but I can get that with a "pastel" deck like the Goddess anyway, so nothing frightening there), it wants the Moon from me (good, anything that helps me get deep into the subconscious is welcome) and our relationship will be the Ace of Pentacles (not sure how to interpret that, possibly the potential for a spiritual relationship?). Any thoughts?

LouiQ: I have the Bosch Hieronymus Tarot, too!
I have been fascinated by the artist's work since I saw it in grade school which led me to get the deck. I like Salvador Dali for the same reason--the surrealism--but I cannot afford Dali's deck, much as I love it! I do not know if I can read with the Bosch, though I have not really tried to yet other than trying to make sense of various cards. Y'know: so many decks, so little time! It does feel a bit "alien". While some of the images are whimsical, others are a wee creepy.
I vaguely recall the spread you are using, one which I meant to copy & forgot.
I tend to associate Pentacles with the art of Tarot & readings, so perhaps Ace-Pentacles indicates new ground to be broken for you in the area of Tarotwork or readings. That is, it could lead to a new understanding or insight that will prove productive in your readings for self & for others.

I also have the deck, and have actually put up for trade once. I love the colors, and I can deal with strange little creatures, but I really have issues with a couple of cards that are just a little to disturbing for me (ones depicting things stuck in orifices like the 10 of pentacles for example) ... I know so silly ... but ohhhh well. Hope you really enjoy the deck LouiQ!

I have this deck, and I absolutely love it for its surreal art. It is one of my very favorite decks from an art perspective. However, I have had no luck trying to read with it. The scenes on the decks seem totally inconsistent with any traditional meanings I'm familliar with. One could memorize card meanings, and use this deck, but for me the scences depicted on the cards don't evoke very coherent readings...The art unto itself is VERY evocative, but doesn't seem to work as a tarot. This is not to say you won't have success reading with this deck. These are just my experiences. Any way you look at it, this is a really intriguing set of cards, and a treasurable addition to most anyone's deck collection.
