i've looked at scans of the dreampower and merlin tarot at his site and read reviews here and at passages. my initial impression of the dreampower is that it's incredibly beautiful but the passages review was less than favorable b/c of the complexity of the system. dreampower is OOP. the merlin will be reprinted in july so i pre-ordered it b/c i love arthurian style decks. i'm curious what others think about these 2 decks. a used copy of the dreampower is like $75 to $150 at amazon. YIKES!!!!!! ok! i did blow $45 on nefertari but that's not this high! plus i can rationalize that expenditure b/c i am enthralled by nefertari. LOL for $75, i want nothing less than that from dreampower. ;) any thoughts?

i have seen a few scans of the dreampower at the tarotpassages site.
could you share the URL to his site?
would like to see the merlin cards.
i love to read about the arthur saga but the only deck i had on that theme (the legend deck) i traded away cause i just couldn't use them.

the url is listed on the tarot review at aeclectic for the dreampower and the merlin. have you seen the arthurian deck by catlin matthews and miranda gray-artist? miranda gray did the art for the merlin also and it's beautiful. imho, if you want to try the arthurian you should be prepared to do the hallowquest self-exploration course w/ it. to me the deck doesn't make sense w/o the hallowquest book which is sold separately and OOP in the US. it's in reprint in the UK. you can get the deck at amazon but it's also in reprint in UK if amazon has sold out. from what scans i've seen, the merlin seems to have a little more personality than the arthurian but i could be wrong. i collect celtic/arthurian style decks so let me know if you want more info on this style of deck. i have LAT and i love the artwork. i use it for a personal deck but i have to admit i get so lost in those watercolors that i often forget what i'm reading. so i can understand why you would have problems clicking w/ it.

thanks lee! i thought there had been a thread about it at sometime but i couldn't remember the title or where it could be. based on your info, i think i'll hold off buying it until i can see it. i like for minors to have personality. i can't see paying big bucks for a deck that doesn't have decent minors even if i like the majors.

truth,
somewhere in the dark recesses of my brain LOL I remember someone trying to trade a Merlin deck and nobody wanted it at the time. Maybe hunt back through the trade sections, see if you can find it.

Hi truth,
I'd not recommend the Merlin tarot as the pip cards differ a lot from the Majors. It looks like 2 different decks. Very disturbing.
