Hi guys,

I need help from Robin Wood's fans or at least deck owners ...

I don't own her book so this shall remain a mystery forever to me unless fellow netties run and save my day :

What the heck is hanging on the Page of Wands' belt ???

I know that it is an item supposed to remind her suit, I know what other Pages carry around but this one, I cannot figure out. I have a slight idea but DH has another one ... Can you help ?

Still get amazing results with this deck and learning minors is so fun.

Thanks !

firework, or fire crackers.

Something about remembering here fire nature etc.
I love a the little atribute's of the page's in the Robin Wood tarot. Its like a cheat sheet ;)

Hi!

I knew the firecrackers, but I haven't figured out the book on the Page of Pentacles' belt. I'm trying to connect the book to the element earth but.... nope, it ain't clicking here... Kissa, you said you had the others figured out... help! ;) :D ;)

Glad to hear you're having such a good relation with your Robin Wood deck. I guess me and my deck are still checking each other out, but I like it more and more each day, and I'm kind of hoping it feels the same way :). Did a first reading with it this morning, and it felt OK. Good sign!

I'm planning on taking Joan Bunnings on-line learn-the-tarot-course (http://learntarot.com/), and using the Robin Wood for that. That should do the trick I think, if there's a trick to be done...!

Light and love!
Jenny :)

The book of the Page of Pentacles reminds us that she is a very scholarly person who likes learning. The pallet of paints on the Page of Cups tells us she is artistic and creative. The telescope of the Page of Swords tells us that she is inquisitive, analytical, and enjoys things like science....

I love what Robin Wood did for the Pages, but I wish she had done it for the other Court Cards too!

Ahh - of course, thanks!

(Wasn't so difficult to see the connection once you pointed it out...! Think I will have to get her book too, I feel I'm missing out on a lot of stuff...!)

Light and love!

I got the book by J.Bunning and I like it A LOT, it's well-done, logical, feels like a school book to me! I also have her internet course somewhere in the computer but I learn better with a book and it is much easier to turn pages to go to exercices and index than having to deal with 10 different screens IMHO.

"Tarot plain and simple" by Anthony Louis actually uses Robin Wood deck pictures.

Anyway, I am learning with Robin Wood deck and Bunning's book and it works fine. I also have my Universal Waite right beside if I want to check traditional RW images.

I tried to get into "Tarot for Yourself", no way. I just get completely confused. I am sticking with Bunning right now and will decide what I do with Greer's book later.

I am sure you will connect very deeply with your Robin Wood deck. Have you tried asking "her" these nice three questions : "what do you want from me ?" "what will you teach me?" and "what will our relationship be ?". Being such an honest and open deck, I am sure you will get straight answers :)

Kiama, Jenny-Li : thank you !

That is what I thought it was ! Firecrackers ! DH told me something about it being stones (silex?) you can rub together and get fire from but he was not sure about their shape ... You can really not trust men, can you ? ;)

Kissa: I've actually printed the on-line version - so I do have it on paper. I kind of like making my own workbooks where I can add and replace and make notes and what not...! :)

Tarot Plain and Simple was one of my first Tarot books, and the first one that made me want the Robin Wood! Tarot for yourself is further down my list for now, I am planning to get 78 Degrees of Wisdom soon though. But not until I've finished the Bunning-course! :D

I did do a "New-deck-reading" with the Robin Wood - I'll post the cards I got on the readings sections, I'd like to get some input on them anyway. I think they definitely seem promising!

Light! Love!

You clever little thing !!! ;)
We have such a terrible printer that I could never do that, eats ten pages at a time and screams to you "error!" with a big orange lamp in your face. Hate that stuff ...

I made a tarot journal and quote Bunning quite a lot in it. really good course, don't you think?

About TFY, I am a little confused about that book... I am not sure it is what I am looking for, but I'll give it another chance when I am thru with J.Bunning's course. If you are looking for a "cheaper" copy, Geenius at Wrok has one to trade.

About your reading, I couldn't help myself and gave my options about it. I am completely amazed that I actually DARED doing that and have been thinking of editing the whole stuff away but, well, it is still in the open, for ppl to read and probably tell me to give up tarot immediately ("total lack of intuition, this Kissa !!!!") :(

Clever, yup. Not to mention I'm a real nasty girl...! 'Cause I printed the whole thing at work, during the time I had to hang around there when the company had already gone banrupt, and everything was already down the drain...! In an immoral way it actually felt quite good doing so...! }) :D }) Ha! Haha!

But after that I actually haven't had a chance to start reading it, I still have one suit to go on the Aeclectic Tarot Basic, and I want to finish that first! But what I picked up while I was going through the stuff for printing, she focuses on all the things most books don't - on reading, reading spreads as wholes etc. Most books focus on the cards one-by-one and a couple of spreads and that's it, this course seems to be different!

But I'm planning 4 whole weeks off from work this summer, 4 weeks I'll be spending studying the Tarot full time. You know - Tarot on the beach, Tarot by the pool, Tarot in the bar... :D Bunning and Pollack and Wood will be my musketeers, and I shall be their enthusiastic D'Artagnan! :D

Light and love,
Jenny :)

Here's one to think about, Kissa: HOW will anybody else ever know if what you get from the cards is intuitive or not? It would be a total contradiction, since if it's intuition, it's *all* yours, impossible for anyone else to judge or validate, right? And hey, we're all beginners here, I've seen people stating 15 years experience on this board, but even they say they feel unsure at times. Tarot is a journey without finish line - that's what's so great about it! And there's only one way to learn, "learning by doing"!

I've read your comments, and I can definitely relate to them, so don't you dare go edit your post on me! :D

Hugs,
Jenny :)

PS: Thanks for the tip about the TFY-trade, but it's pretty much WAY down on the list, and besides I have nothing to trade with... Haven't collected long enough to be able to part with any of my decks or any of my books...! ;)

I print your message out, cut this part and glue it, surrounded by rainbow colors and a BIG SHINING SUN, in my tarot journal (do I owe you any copyrights ??). You made my day, my dear friend !!
