Chris Paradis has reprinted the Rock 'n' Roll Tarot in an edition of 500. It is $25 including shipping for a 102-card deck (the traditional 78 plus 24). Have a look at this deck at the review sites, or at most of the cards on his site:
http://members.aol.com/dworkin777/rockandrolltarot1.html
I have his mailing info and all that too, but I think you can just email him and he will respond... dworkin777@aol.com
As someone who considers themselves a "rock person," I am really impressed with the imagery of this deck. I think he's done an excellent job of picking the right artists to represent the different cards. I also love the colors and the way he's worked lyrics into the card designs. I can't wait to get this deck :D

i bought this deck a few months back. i really like it and agree he did a great job associating music w/ certain musicians and cards. i think it's worth the money. i don't read w/ it and consider it more of a collectable.

I just realized....what are the other extra cards? I only have an extra 10 that list the card artist and song lyric, an introduction card, acknowledgments, title card and one extra one with all the lyrics written together.
What are the other 14 of????

ROFLMAO well, i didn't start collecting decks in april you know! it's just that april has been the roughest month so far. ;) i have maintained better control in the past. of course, i hold you and faunabay personably responsible for corrupting me! LOL :D the seeds of destruction were probably all ready planted tho... :( (crocodile tears)
i have the signed edition, too. i don't remember seeing extra cards. now i've got to go back and check!

I'm going to order it too, because even though I just got the original, I want a deck to read with. For some reason, this deck really speaks to me. And I don't usually like collage decks, or non-traditional suits, or any of that. :D

To anyone who ordered this new re-release can you please post what the extra 24 cards are when you get the deck???? I'm soooo curious now! :)

~Giggles~ Now Truthsayer, ~looks all innocent and tries not to laugh~ how could you ever say that Faunabay and I are bad influences? You know we believe in free will ~finally cracks up~. Well I will make sure and post the cards for you both since I will be the only one of the three with the new deck :) ... I feel so behind!!!!! *LOL*

It supposed to have shipped out today.
I let you know what the other cards are if the others don't first. I may get distracted playing "name that tune" with the cards for a little while first.
I was squinting at some of the websites that published the deck to get the preview of all the cards......

I just got it! Wow! It's too cool!
The second printing size is 2" x 4", a good reading size.
Deck suits: Voice (Wands), Guitars (Swords), Muse (Cups), Albums (Pentacles).
The extra cards are as follows:
- Signature card with #/Edition size
- Introduction card by Author
- Major Arcana list of each card's artist & lyric
(2 cards)
- Alternate Card list of artists & lyrics
- All the lyrics in the deck listed on one card
(very small printing!)
- Lists of artists & lyrics for each suit
(4 cards)
- 4 Cards listing the R&R Tarot suit associations, along with the traditional suit associations
- "Acknowledgements" card
- 1 extra card with the card back design on both sides.
Plus, there are eight alternatives cards in addition to the originals in the deck:
- Fool: Lou Reed
- Magician: ELO
- Empress: Tori Amos
- Hermit: Neil Young
- Justice: Marvin Gaye
(I *love* this card...gives me chills! The lyric on the card is, "Oh you know we've got to find a way to bring some understanding here today.")
- Star: Joni Mitchell
- 5 of Voice: Guns & Roses
- Prince of Muse: Jackson Browne
(Just doing my part to feed the addictions of the other tarotholics out there...you *want* this deck...you *need* this deck...you *must have* this deck! Bwaaahaaahaaa! ) ;)
Peace,
Melvis

Mine came in the mail today, and it's incredible. I love it -- it's just so much fun. My only problem is that Bob Dylan is the original Hermit. Now Neil Young is the alternative hermit, and both of them are favorites of mine. What can I do?
Seriously, I am very impressed with the attention to detail and all of the extra information about the cards. They are a good size to read with, too. This deck is definitely worth it, if you like rock and roll.

He made Tori the Empress?? And Joni, the living embodiment of hope (in her incarnation as folk princess anyway), is the Star? (Big Sigh) I can't afford this deck for a couple of weeks yet, and it's really beginning to upset me!
So, is Tori still the Princess of Voice, too?

My deck (marked #193/500) came in today. I thought it was rather funny how closely alike the Bjork and Nine Inch Nails cards look....

you ppl really upset me! i thought i had such a find when i got the first printing. now what happens? chris paradisi adds cards and other cool stuff and makes the cards a smaller more manageable size!!!! ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! LOL i'm not giving in until i know i can't procure a copy of the wm blake deck b4 they're all gone first. (truth crosses her arms and pouts) fellow tarot-holics there's no reason to help me change my mind...okay, maybe if you twist my arm a little harder...
this has to be what the owners of the first mountain dream tarot felt when bea nettles agreed to do a new improved reprint.

Well what do 'ya know! I went to the mailbox just now and there it was! Yoo-Hoo! # 209 of 500. At first glance I find the card size rather small. And it isn't easy at first to tell what suit a card is in. But I sat down and put the whole deck in perfect order , and now it's much more discernable what is what! I plan on studying each card. I Love the devil! I Love the whole deck! Except- it's making me want to run to the cd store! I'll have to get out the fabric and sewing machine and sew it a cute bag.

I ordered a special bag for this deck at Tarot Totes. Chris Paradis worked with Betty to create it.
The bag even comes in two sizes -- one for the original deck and one for the new deck.

I've got this one on order for my DH. I can't believe that he wants a Tarot deck :D; so of course, I have to get it for him!
Now, to go to Tarot Totes and order the bag for it...

I've had this one for a while, but I've never read with it. I bought it because I loved the theme and the art.
Maybe I should give it a try as a reading deck... ;)
I also have the matching bag from Tarot Totes, but the big one. They introduced the smaller one for this second edition after I had ordered mine. Not that it matters, now the cards have a spacious home... :D

If I ever wanted to get one, does anyone know if there are some still available?
I must admit that the scans on the site are very cr@££y, but I would love to have a deck with Bjork and Sheryll Crow as Aces! :D

Yes, I believe that there are still some available. I've seen them listed on eBay by Chris himself for $30 (which includes shipping in the U.S. - may be a bit more to Europe).

does anybody have the 1st R&R tarot and the 2nd? i'm trying to decide if it's worth getting the second one, too. i don't use the 1st except to occasionally flip thru the cards. i'd consider the 2nd worth getting if enough of the cards have changed or added that the deck has significantly changed.

Pollux, I am here with my r and r deck just for you!
Alanis Morrisette- 5 of voice (wands)
It may be hard to tell just by looking at the card as the faces are a bit distorted looking on some , but that is her!

By the way, no cards have been deleted or replaced. Only new cards have been added . So , for instance, there are now 2 star cards instead of one. Same goes for the hermit and various others.

I am new and this is an old thread...but since time has passed since, has anyone been reading with the R n R tarot deck? I have the first edition signed by the artist, but I don't want to read from it because I think A.) I want to keep it new, B.) It seems hard to read from (for me atleast). How do you find it's readability. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

i keep my r'n'r as a collector's deck. i think it was well thought out so it could be read but it's just too unique to break in by shuffling. copies of these babies don't grow on trees so i can't easily replace it. i have less valuable decks in my collection i can read with that i can replace.

Thanks Truthsayer. Yes that is the truth. And I understand from what I have read here that this deck is more and more coveted. So, as you, I will keep it fresh looking. Thanks! :T3S
