In being appropo with recent releases in the US:
Does anyone know if the the Star Wars Tarot is still available anywhere? I think I read that it was the same person who did the Rock and Roll Tarot.
I would love to know how they applied the S.W. Mythos. I think just for the first three movies but I could be wrong...
(I'm revealing the Geek Blood coursing through my veins, aren't I?)

I've seen lots of Star Wars Tarot decks in progress, and plenty of times the creators of these decks have asked LucasFilm for their permission, but they've always been denied. Lucas doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with this. I love Star Wars, and would dearly love to see a Tarot deck to do with it, (And, of course, own one!)
I didn't realise there was one already available. If there is, then I'm getting it!

At this point, I think the Fool would have to feature a picture of a moviegoer.

I have seen 2 cards on the SW Tarot:
The Fool= Luke Skywalker
The Devil= Darth Vader
Although I would be inclined to disagree with the second choice.

to my knowledge no star wars deck has ever been published b/c lucas won't allow it. i know b/c i knew someone who found a way to contact george lucas and he or a spokeperson said "no". i think there are several unauthorized versions but i doubt it would go far in publication b/c of copyright infringement. personally, i'd love to see a star wars deck based on the first 3. i think chris paradiso who did the rock and roll has some samples in the deck reviews.

The art on those is the nicest I've seen, but the correspondences are weak at best. Someone else here was working on a Buffy deck a few months ago; the art wasn't as good, but most of the correspondences were spot on (even if she did use Thoth majors instead of RW :P). The two of them ought to join forces and pick the better aspects of both.

... The Hermit = Obi Wan Kenobi (as an old man). Seen that somewhere.
I agree that Darth Vader is not a good character for The Devil in tarot.
I wonder what Yoda would be... (he's my very favourite)

Very interesting... :) Keep in mind that the majors that i used for that tarot "deck" (www.seprah.com/buffy/tarot.html) were done in s3-4. I would be open to making more suggestions of different characters to use, and I can be open to explaining why I used a specific character where I did. Although I guess I'm taking it off the Star Wars topic and into the Buffy...
(Although for "Fool," we could always use the Jedi Counsel...)
Anyway, thanks for the critique!
