I was going through one of the bookstores today and actually paying attention (mark it on the calendar!) and ran across this deck. Does anybody know anything about it?

I have it.
It is a neat little deck and concept. I think the only thing that anyone should be aware of is that it referances the entire Oz series, instend of just the Wizard of Oz movie we all know and love.
There are references to the other books all over the place. Patch Girl and Ozma for example. Dorothy is the Fool. The pictures used are inspired by the illustrations used in one set of the original series a little cartoony in all, but still pretty fun.
I always wondered if I could play the Dark Side of the Moon while doing a reading with these cards.....

ooooo *shivers muchly* That's just creepy... *L* Did that once, with all the lights off and stuff, and it was just... ugh!
Of course, since the deck has symbolism from ALL the books, that means I'd have to buy them all and read them to make sense of it. Right? Right??!!? *nod nod nod nod*

The creator of this deck is also working on our much awaited Anne Rice Tarot.

Now I WOULD be a little worried if it was in the same style as the Oz deck. Cartoony works for Oz, I can't picture it translating in the same way for the Anne Rice characters....

I'm a big fan of the Oz books (I have read the first eight, I think), but I can't decide whether to add this deck to the Big-Ass List or not. It's not that great for me when the people on the cards are posing stock-still and not doing anything, which is how this seems from the scans I've seen. Then again, the Tarot Art Nouveau (Castelli) is like that, and that deck is lovely... Libra Attack!
The Rice deck is more appealing. I've only read "Interview" and "The Witching Hour," so I don't know who most of these people are, but it's lush and mobile.

I've got the next 5 books of the VC's (Interview series), and have finished most of them. Toss me a line if you'd like for me to send them on.
