I would like to know if there are sites where it is possible to see all the cards of the decks, and, if so, the addresses.
I remember there was one for sure... but bookmarking it never occurred to me. It was not an artist's page, like that of Cosmic Tribe for example, but an on-line shop, where you could see a good number of decks (Kiama, do you remember that site we browsed together, when we looked at New Palladini and some other deck?)
Thanks. :)

It was exactly this one!!! WOWOWOW
Maybe, if the link can be found in a message posted yesterday, this whole thread should be erased, yet it would be good if the list could go on though... I wish I could add another, but I have not found any so far - 2 hours researching!! GRRRRRRRRR
Thanx tarotlady_nl!!!! :D

Does anyone know if you can get in trouble as far as copyright goes... for scanning and putting online an entire deck?

Yup, by scanning and putting a deck online, you're pretty much breaking copyright. If you get caught. ;)

Ladyhawke is right, folks -- please, *please* be careful. Posting digital images of an entire deck may appear harmless on the surface, but any deck artist would -- and should -- have some real concerns about the practice. This is one of the primary reasons that we typically only post a half-dozen images from each deck in the Tarot Garden database. Six cards, provided for reference and promotion (of the artist/copyright holder's work) purposes generally falls within the "fair usage" guidelines for such reproductions.
I know that www.tarot.com has received permission -- and *exclusive* rights -- from U.S. Games (who owns the worldwide copyright at present) to the "digital" publication of the complete R/W deck. I don't know about the rest of the decks they've posted, but I suppose it's not a stretch to assume that they've received permission to post the complete set of cards from those decks as well.
As for the rest, well -- digital publication rights are not something that most experienced deck designers or publishers would grant lightly. The reason being is the current advanced state of computer technology -- with a high-quality color printer, it would be a simple matter to print the digital images from the web on high-quality photograde paper, cut them out, mount them on cardstock -- and make your own deck.
Furthermore, digital posting of complete decks can -- and has -- result(ed) in the physical publication of decks without the artist or copyright holder's consent. We know of an instance (thanks to the assistance of a Tarot Garden customer, who alerted us to the problem), where the original major arcana cards of an Australian artist were downloaded from the web and published by a German metaphysical company, completely without the artist's permission or knowledge. To make a long story short, the artist is now trying to obtain restitution from the publisher, but it may be difficult given the international scope of the situation. (If you're curious about the deck in question, it's Kat Black's Golden Tarot, which can be seen at http://www.goldentarot.com .)
So, while we all like to be able to see all the cards from the decks we love, and while we all like to help others, please proceed with courtesy and caution when making complete decks available in digital format on the world wide web.

Thank you Jeanette and/or Lori for your post. Now we all know how to behave... ;)
I feel really sorry for that artist. It is only possible to see the HP, but the work behind it seems HUGE! And after such a fatigue being frauded is not the top of luck... I hope things will be definitely straightened soon for him.

Arrgh! I'm sure you meant that in the best possible sense, but after re-reading my post, it did strike me as sounding a bit "preachy." I'm so sorry -- I should have been more careful to include a "IMHO" disclaimer! I guess I'm just too "close" to the issue to be entirely objective.
:(

Actually, if you read through the text, there's a paragraph farther down the page that has links to pages with the majors and each suit of the minors.
BUT -- I hadn't actually visited the page myself for a while, until I double-checked it after reading your post. And I see from her latest update that Kat's actually received a legitimate publication offer from U.S. Games! Huzzah! I'm on her mailing list regarding the copyright breach (which anyone can subscribe to using the link given on her homepage), and I knew that she'd said something was brewing, but I didn't know that any deals had been finalized. For obvious reasons, I see she's not posting the reworked images on the web, but you can still see "version 1.0" in its entirety. Check it out -- you'll get a sneak preview of a new and exciting deck forthcoming from your friendly neighborhood (Internet - wink, wink) tarot dealer!
:D

It's "her," but no matter -- I'm sure she'd be happy for you to buy a copy of her deck when it's released, regardless!
;)
And so yet another temptation arises, enticing us all to expand our tarot libraries one deck further -- LOL!

Jeanette, I have become a big fan of the tarotgarden website! I have never actually seen so many decks (except here, of course).
Where are you guys based -do you deliver in/to Europe?

I found another one: www.wyrdshop.com is a shop in Edinburgh that sells all kinds of interesting things for the discerning wiccan/pagan, including a good selection of tarot cards.
The pictures of the decks for sale are only small but they show the back of the cards!!!!
I don't know about you, but I do want to know what the back of the cards is like, and in my experience very few sites will show you, so I find this one very good.
PS. If you visit, check out the 'problems page' :D

We're in the U.S., and we'll ship to anywhere that has postal delivery service.
If we can be of further service, you can write to Lori or I offlist at lsd@tarotgarden.com (Lori) or jkr@tarotgarden.com (me), to avoid going too far afield from the thread topic.
