Ananda Tarot

Hello, I have done a search of this forum and this site and find no reference to the Ananda Tarot. I just bought this in a bookstore in Berlin. Anyone heard of it? I am finding it a little too ethereal for me, but very beautiful. The Artist is Ananda Kurt Pilz, and publisher is Urania. Perhaps it is published under a different name in English?

I have this deck. I fell in love with the artwork that I saw at the Tarot Garden and immediately ordered the deck. I was no less dissapointed when it arrived. Ethereal is a great description of the artwork, but I would think that because of that the deck would connect on an emotional and/or intuitive level. I have not gotten around to using the deck, not for lack of interest, but lack of time.

Unfortunately there is not a book out there for it in English and unlike you I do not read German so I cannot tell you if the book is good or bad. I believe it is a lovely and inspirational deck. I would love to hear what you have to say about the book.

Firemaiden:

There is currently no English-language edition of the Ananda Tarot. It is a German publication, with no international distribution at present. We have to import it from Germany to get it for our Tarot Garden customers over here.

I do believe that mention of the Ananda has popped up on the Aeclectic forums in the past, but I haven't seen any mention of it recently. It is a beautiful deck. When measured by number of copies sold, it's actually been our #1 all-time best-seller at Tarot Garden -- it sells so fast that I usually can't keep it in stock for more than 2 weeks at a time. I'm really hoping that someone will eventually translate the book into English, and pick it up for North American distribution.

That is just stunning! Went on over to tarotgarden and checked it out. That one card on the bottom left sort of looks like Jim Morrisson. Another one added to the wish list.

Rhiannon :)

I find many of the cards stunning too, I guess which is why I bought it. I love the Universe card, picture of an ethereal naked woman against a starry night with some sunset colors. But I find myself longing to see some more physical bodies, isn't that funny? it makes me feel un-grounded.
Funny about how individual decks are. Well, I guess if I can't live with it, I could trade it, right?
Perhaps I should turn into a Tarot book translator...
