Egyptian Tarot vs. AET

Hi, Regarding... Egyptian Tarot (Silvana Alasia) vs. Ancient Egyptian Tarot (Clive Barrett) I know there is another thread about these decks and don't want to repeat what is already posted there.... My problem is I think I'd really like either of these decks (at some point in the future.) I have already spent too much $$$ this month on tarot.. LOL. It is so hard to tell without using them so my question for this thread is not about beauty or symbolism or anything like that as I think both are gorgious... I'd just really like to know.... which do you find easiest to read with and why? Which is more comfortable? Blessings, Love & Light, :TWOR

i don't know how to guide you. i have the neferteri which is the gold foiled version of the ET. i want to get the ET, too b/c i like the NT so much. i like it better than the AET. but i like non-rws clones better in general. this is me tho and i always tend to go against the crowd in what i like. do you prefer real ppl or do you like tomb hieroglyphic replications? it's all a matter of what you prefer.

Alright , out of the 45 decks on my current "Wish List" (why do I do this to myself?!) I've decided that When I can afford it , which will probubly be awhile, The first 2 I'm going to order will be Ancient Egyptian Tarot and the Nefertari Tarot. I think Truthsayer's (previous) description of all that glittering gold got to me! I want to see it for myself , in person , and I also want the Ancient Egyptian Tarot . That way I will have both . They are both calling to me! Well , at least I've made this decision and narrowed 45 down to 2 for the time being! Whew! I feel better! ;) :D ;) . BTW for anyone trying to search for decks on amazon, you have to put in the EXACT right name and spelling. I put "Nefertari Tarot" and it came up with nothing until I put "Nefertari's" Tarot" .

purplelady, i don't think you can go wrong w/ either deck. i'm starting to feel guilty for egging ppl on to buy such an expensive deck when there's no guarantee they'll like it. i think for most ppl AE is best. neferteri isn't easy to read. maybe i should start a new career advertizing tarot decks! ;) LOL i've always loved the beauty of real egyptian hieroglyphics. i watch all the shows on egyptain archeology i can and try to see real artifacts when i can. neferteri is a good reproduction of a type of art i've always loved. whenever i saw the AE before i learned of neferteri, i wanted it so much. but i felt differently about AE when i got it. i really think it's b/c i loved neferteri's so much. but again, i've had a fixation on this kind of art for a long time.

Thanks for the input Truthsayer and Purplelady. At least I have it narrowed down to these 2 I guess. I was thinking I might not like Nefertari's because of the gold foil... if it got a crease in one of the cards, I think that would bug the heck out of me. Gold is pretty soft... Then also, I wouldn't want anyone touching the cards in case they creased them etc.. etc.. If I'm doing an in-person reading I spread the deck I'm using and the person gets to pick their own cards. As for what I prefer...both! lol. The pictures online did grab me on the AE but the heiroglyphs on the ET seem more realistic of Egypt somehow. Or maybe I prefer the nobility and deities more than humans. The AE comes with a book to help. The ET does not but the ET has HEIROGLYPHICS. Well, you see my dilema..... :D

the neferteri is thin paper stock(like an index card) w/ gold foil pressed in around the colored art. you can feel the marks of where the foil was pressed into the card. i think the cards are reasonably strong. i used it in a reading recently and let the querent touch the cards w/o problem. however, she loves ancient egypt. i wouldn't allow just any querent touch them.

Thanks Truthsayer.... sounds to me like I definitely was right about waiting on Neferteri for now.... maybe later I will get a deck just for me though. :-) I think I am leaning towards Egyptian Tarots rather than the AET at the moment but wishing there was an Isis deck...not the one that has psych cards... a real Isis type deck with good art. I looked at Ibis online too but it just doesn't do anything for me. Thanks again, Love & Light, Sky

Yea! Yea! Yea! I've ordered the Ancient Egyptian Tarot! (Will probubly take about a week to show up). And also the "Fantastical " tarot . This is one that I've wanted for a long time. I really do want the Nefertari too, but can't afford it at this time. My husband doesn't know I ordered anything. If he finds out , I'll just tell him truthsayer made me do it! Just kidding!!!! I just noticed here that the latest member is Clive Barrett, creator of the AET, and also the" Norse Tarot ", just went to his homepage and it looks like the Norse tarot may get a reprint! Oh , I seriously hope because this is one I Really want! I didn't read that far though because I was so excited I had to come here and post it first!

About the Norse Tarot, it is out of print but he is "currently waiting for the publisher to inform him of the reprint date". That is fantastic because this is one I really want! (I know , I already said that!)

I noticed he had joined earlier today too.... I'm sure he wants to read what everyone has been saying about him! LOL. Hi Clive! :-) Kind of interesting timing... today I was leaning towards liking the AE deck more. haha! I will probably eventually just get both decks at some point anyway. :TWOR
