Excited! (warning, a post really about nothing)

As I've already said, I won Hallowe'en Tarot and book from ebay, and I found out a few days ago my dad ordered the Celtic Dragon Tarot for me! I'm VERY excited, I haven't gotten a new deck in ages. I can't wait to try them both out.

I warned you this post was about nothing ;).

cherrywind: Tut, tut! Your post is not "about nothing." For example, you have a perfect chance here to get some advance input on these decks, if you plan to use them for reading. Or to find out who wants to know some more about these decks, so you have a specific starting point for your studies when they arrive. There's lots of opportunities here; which ones would excite you even more?

And it's also about your dad. Not everyone on the Aeclectic forums has a dad that would happily buy them a tarot deck. I have a customer at Tarot Garden who has had to request that I cut the words "Tarot Garden" off of the return address label, so his parents don't know that he's buying decks. Typical story -- they apparently equate tarot with being the "work of the devil." Quite a shame; consider yourself lucky in that department!

Enjoy your new decks! :)

Alright Cherrywind!!!!!!!

Personally I like hearing about what decks people are currently getting and what they think about it when they get to look through the cards! Be sure to tell us how you like them!

Cherrywind -

Congratulations on your forthcoming decks! I can't speak for the Celtic Dragon (but I can say that I think it's really neat that your Dad ordered it for you!), but you're going to love the Halloween Tarot!

I also love to read about people's latest deck acquisitions!

I love to hear what people are getting as well. I have the Halloween tarot, and I think you'll love it.

Cherrywynd that's wonderful! Esp. about you Dad... You're very lucky to have somebody so accepting as a Father.. Whilst my Father doesn't mind Tarot, and doesn't see it as evil or wrong, he and my Mum still refuse to buy me any more decks, and I think its probably cuz I've got far too many lready!

Enjoy your new decks!

Thanks everybody :).

I know I'm lucky to have a father who is so accepting. My mother is also. I've always been thankful for that so I didn't have to sneak around to do things.

Does anybody have some thoughts or suggestions for somebody who's never used the Celtic Dragon deck before?

I just got the Celtic Dragon Tarot about a week ago, and i love it! The artwork is wonderful and the book that comes with it helps, a lot. It has a few good spreads and spells. I really enjoyed the meditations! The only thing i had a problem with was the meanings of the cards. I feel the book could have went into deeper meanings of the cards. But, all in all, i love the deck, and i think you'll have a great time with it! :)
