Loving my new Halloween Tarot deck!

After a particularly long, grueling day visiting DH at the hospital - ugh, I came home to a mysterious package! My much anticipated Halloween Tarot! It is just so darling and I love the fit of it in my hands (I have small hands and it's perfect sized!). I plan to do some readings with it, after I finish oohing, aahing and giggling with the pictures.

(Thanks Qolus for speaking so highly of it!)

Starfish: I'm starting to wonder if you and I are somehow psychically linked or something. My cousin called me today (the one that sells New Age stuff) and this lady had sent a package back and he was giving me first chance on these 2 tarot decks she sent back...guess what they are? The Whimsical and the Halloween deck...you just got both!!! I'm going over there tomorrow to look at them.

Anyway, I saw this post and the other post you posted about the Whimsical one and after my cousin called, I got goosebumps. Weird, huh?? LOL.

You must keep me updated on both...how your readings are coming along!

Blessings, Michelle

I myself just bid on a Hallowe'en Tarot deck on ebay. It isn't over until tomorrow, but I REALLY hope that I win, because I've wanted this deck for a really long time.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts about it :).

Violet Gargoyle  21 Jun 2002
It's still pretty my my favorite deck, but I collect things Halloween and I decorate for for October 31 more than I do for Christmas/Yule.

I purposely put up purple and white lights every year so that I can just switch around a few things after Halloween. No muss, no fuss, no putting up lights in the freezing cold.

Anyway, I love the charm of the Halloween deck, very 1930's.

Awesome! I think you're on to something - we are definitely linked ;)

So, did you get them???

I'm loving them both - great sizes, colors and very easy to read.

I won the deck of Hallowe'en tarot :D! It comes with the book and everything and it's only costing me about $13 american. I can't wait to get it.

Violet - I'm the exact same way about Hallowe'en, I even have jack 'o' lantern lights I keep up all year round!

thanks for the kudos, Starfish :|

I'm happy it's working out so well for you. Okay, all you naysayers... I told you so! ;)

Starfish: I haven't yet made it over to my cousin's house; he keeps getting called away to repair people's computers. LOL.

I looked at both decks (images of them) here and I can't wait to see the Whimsical. My son was sitting on my lap while I was looking at them and he likes both of them, so I'm thinking I may get them for him to just play around with...especially the Whimsical one.

Keep me posted on how the readings off of them come along!!!

Blessings, Michelle

I'm going to start sounding like Qolus soon ;) because I definitely love this deck. It's fun and easy to read and I really recommend it. I'm so glad I've added it to my collection.

Both of them are definitely great for kids :) My 9 year old loves the whimsical one too - but she did tell me that she thought the Halloween deck is a hoot!

I especially love the book that came with the Halloween deck, very interesting facts and the descriptions of the cards are very good. I ordered the Halloween fabric Tarot Tote to be the home to my Halloween deck - too, too cute.

The readings with both new decks are wonderful - very easy to interpret (especially for a newbie).

Hi Starfish lol

Its really hard to believe that when I first came to this site, I had the Rider Waite, very satisfied with it, no problem then someone mentioned the Hanson Roberts, I liked it, then a friend gifted me the Diamond, not long after the Spiral, tiny Universal Waite, Robin Wood and finally The Celtic Dragon lol - I love them all, well having a slight jealousy problem with the Robin Wood, but I can't help it lol someone mentions a deck, I check it out and before I know whats happening I've ordered lol - I call it Retail Therapy :D Anyway after I've ordered the Halloween and Sacred Circle I'm not going to buy anymore (that is what I'll repeat to myself like a mantra - no more, no more, lol )
Well I do have to take delivery of my Spiral Tarot Book that has taken me months to find, Still floating on cloud nine about this one :)

I went to the local fabric store last year and found this great fabric to make a tote for the Halloween cards. It's this vivid red and orange tye dye, with golden lightning and little bats all through it. I liked the fabric so much that I got extra and made a skirt/surong out of it.

Very Tropi-gothical, although I can really only wear it after September because of the bats.

BTW- The are a few other books about Halloween out there if you like the facts in the Halloween Deck book. Of course many of them go under the heading of "Interesting, yes- but taken with a grain of salt"....

Aeclectic rocks! I just spied the Halloween Tarot about 1-2 weeks ago and laughed the whole time i was looking at it. I thought it was so adorable, and I love Halloween too, after having converted to witch from Christian ;)

Cherry and Violet, you have given me some good ideas! 3 years ago i made a billion little cloth ghosties and hung them all over the house and outside on the tree. Our last one finally blew away a few months ago, hee hee.

But I am definately upping my "must have list" to include this sooner, rather than later. Thanks all for letting me know how easy it is to read with. I was concerned about that.

*cackles* :THP

I just got converted to the Halloween Tarot yesterday! I had never looked at it very closely, but one of my favorite clerks finally got me to look at it and it's so well done. The suits make perfect sense, and the art is so expressive. It's got such a great sense of humor! I love the facial expressions, especially on the ghosts, and I love the 7 of Imps where the cat is glaring at one imp. Gotta love the cat.

This one is definitely on my list now -- where will the madness end? ;)

Starfish. Qolus. Violet. Michelle. Cherrywind.....
which of you is going to right a review for the Halloween Deck?
You know it's only got three stars, so you guys who have it gotta push it! REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW

*sits down, tired now*

Starfish  24 Jun 2002
Qolus get's my vote - since it was Qolus' opinion of the deck that influenced my decision to purchase it.

Being a newbie to Tarot, I don't think I'm qualified enough (yet ;)) to do a review.

Definitely a great idea!

criminy... what have I got myself into??

I am moving this coming weekend, and after that, I will do a couple of readings with it so I can review it with some sort of coherence. Okay? Okay. :D

Bram: I was wondering if that was where you got your name from when I first saw you a few days ago...Bram Stoker?

Qolus: yay!!!

Starfish: psshhhaah! I only had 2 posts up MAYBE and I did a review for the Vampire Tarot deck (which I don't think has gotten onto the boards yet). You don't need to qualify, you just need to talk a lot (Solandia said she has a preference for a certain amount of words) and describe what you like! Pick your favorite deck and DO IT!! Wheeehaa!

(ps. sorry i'm so excited! i finally got a little avatar and I am sooo happy!)

:D :D :D

Congrats on your avatar! Aren't they cool?

I did a reading for Mondk (posted it in the Reading Exchange section) with the Halloween Tarot today - I love the way it reads so easily for me.

My 11 year old step daughter just told me she wanted the Halloween Tarot deck..I sent her to a couple sites so she can pick her own..Orignallly she wanted unicorn but I told her she needed to see the deck first because I did not think it was very appealing..I am planning on not sending her the LWB with it..I am afraid she will memorize the meanings..just send the deck let her play with it before she gets into readings and things..what do you guys think of that?
