Ok, one more for you addicts.
I added this one to my collection as it was recently released (ok I fought a bit with myself as I wanted to get the Motherpeace before but then I had a closer look at the Petersen deck and I liked it, maybe because I seem to be in Asian decks at the moment.
I'll bribe my co-worker to scan this one for me, too and then you'll see more of it.
I'd consider it a must-have for all who felt drawn to the "Roots of Asia" as the artwork looks similar.

Awwww....
Have you ever seen a Swedish person with a green face? Well here's one right here...! Margarete Petersen's deck is one of the top items on my list...!
(Have promised both hubby and myself to have a slow-down with the deck/book purchasing for a while now.... *...gngngngngn...* *I have to sit on my hands to keep them from rushing me into Amazon-world...!*)
Let us know what it's like to read with/spend time with!!
Jenny :)

Hi Jenni,
No intend to make you jealous (what is the colour of your hair? maybe a green face will match ;)
I just go the Petersen deck because I have a funny feeling about the publishing house which released it, there seems to be something behind the scences and I was afraid that I have no chance to get this deck.

Are you sayíng maybe I should hurry to get it? I don't want to miss it, but I thought they just recently released it...?
(I'm blond, so I got this really sick lime and banana-look. Eww...!! :D *lol* :D)

Does anyone have a link to a site to see these cards or perhaps scan them so we can all see them?

Hi Jenny,
Yes, it was only recently released but there are massive delays in delivery at Königsfurth-Verlag or even non-deliveries at all (eg a book especially for Egyptian-orientated Tarot decks or the J. Riley tarot compilation which was already anounced for the Frankfurt book fair in last October) so I wonder what is going on at Königsfurth.
Hm, a lime-green Swedish blonde looks surely impressive. Wasn't the green cat "Petersilie" also from Sweden?

Hi Mystique,
I'll start my a-bribe-for-a-scan of the Tantra Tarot and the Petersen one tomorrow so maybe we can see them by next week.

Hi Jema,
Well there is still a way to find a trade! Anything special on your list which might interest little Catlin?

Green Swedish cat? Petersilie?? Nope, none that I've heard of... There's one called Pelle Svanslös, who might have had green pants (Jema, do you remember? Or was it Bill and Bull who had the green pants...?), but that's all I can think of! (He had no tail, that's what Svanslös means, no-tail!)
But Catlin, you mean you just bought the deck and now you're putting it up for a trade? Where's the catch...?? ;)

A Peterson deck was just up on ebay last week, the price went over $36 & I lost track of it, but they had 5 or 6 cards pictured. It was for the full 78 card deck.

Hi Jenny,
No, I' won't give away my deck but in case there should be a deck offered in the trading section for which I've been longing for ages (maybe the Amber Tarot) I'd re-order a new Petersen deck to swap with.
The cat with green pants is surely the Findus of the "Patterson and Findus" (German title) stories but I remember having read an article last year in a cats' magazine about a real cat which had a green hue in her fur and I think this has happened in a Scandinavian country but I am not so sure if it was Sweden or Norway or Danmark, etc.

I forget to mention that I passed some cards of the Peterson deck to a co-worker for scanning so all of you can have a peep then (and get more green faces ;)

Hm, yes - Findus does have green pants, but I'm pretty sure there has been other cats with green pants. I think so at least...!
Anyway, I decided Ms Petersen will have to wait, despite all. I'm sure even if they have delivery problems NOW, that will sort itself until I get down to that part of my loooong list. (And I don't have the Amber anyway...!) So many decks, so little time. And money...!

you guys are just going to have to stop this nonsense of coming up w/ new decks i need to buy every other day! LOL :D i've managed to get by on trading for the past week. i haven't bought a new deck in around a week or so. i'm up to 65 decks now (not counting oracles) and i want to slow down to meet the ones i have now. i want to see a "pattern" for what i like.
i heard someone say that she didn't like the "roots of asia" deck but i don't know why. i don't have any asian style decks at the moment that i recollect so i'm considering it for the moment. i don't want to go to a lot of trouble to get a deck i hate tho. i think the "i am one" deck is going to be the next one i get or the wm blake or the templar or the......must...restrain...my...self...

*rofl* Your post made me laugh, the way you manage to sound so helpless in your struggle against falling for any new decks. But think positively: 65 decks aren't so bad, you're still below the 20%-line of all the decks on Aeclectic...! :D
Let's see for how long you can stay away from the Margarethe Petersen-deck... (and let's see how long I can...! :D)

I'm not sure how States-centric I'm being here, but to me it's very much like Superman and Kryptonite: "Can't... move...! Deck... too... captivating! Gnnngngngnngg...."

Hi Truth,
Ok, I mentioned that I do not see the "Roots of Asia" as a reading deck, it is more of a meditation deck. I added the "Roots of Asia" deck to my collection as I wanted to extend the Asian section a bit and because I fell in love with the cards shown here.
I guess much of my first "Roots of Asia" dislike was due to the disappointment with finding it more a meditation deck than a reading deck but after having looked it trough for several times I found things I like about it.
Same with the Petersen deck. There was a big advertising campaign before the deck was released, everybody was hold in suspense and then, when I saw it for the first time, I thought: "Another meditation deck?! I won't spent 30 € on that."
Several months later, on a rainy afternoon, I went to the Xanthippe book shop and had the chance to leaf the Petersen tarot through and to do a trial reading with it and Lo, the reading was perfect!
End of this story: catlin takes out 30 € and carries her Petersen deck home grinning like the Cat of Alice in Wonderland.

somewhere i had read that a great disappointment were the green borders, do you feel the same about that, she found them cheap...

Hm, yes I think it would look much cooler with black borders or maybe a dark blue ones.
The Petersen has purple borders which are ok.

I was tempted to...my shaky finger and credit card were hovering over the keyboard, but then I saw it was an oversized deck and I changed my mind.....

That was one of our "Blitz" auctions, and we've relisted the Petersen. It's on sale all week for $30... Independence Day (a.k.a. "the 4th of July") over here in the 'States an' all that...
So, you've still got a shot at it, if you want it. The deck is also available for direct sale through July 7th at the $30 price (i.e., if anyone out there doesn't do the "eBay" thing, or would rather not deal with eBay for whatever reason -- and who could blame 'em? -- just drop us a line directly). After the 7th, I shouldn't be quite so overstocked on the Petersens any more, so it will be back to regular price on Monday...
