i finally broke down and bought a copy of the portal deck. one thing i noticed about it other than how gorgeous the cards themselves are, is that this decks feels like it was lovingly put together for me. it comes with a handmade black silk bag. the lwb is copied then bound by hand with a built book mark. included was a special gift of a large size hermit.
the cards themselves remind me of how the ananda makes me feel like i could stare into the cards until each becomes 3-D and tells me it's story. something about it reminds me some of the sacred circle. i think it's in how the cards were cut out and the type of paper. the paper is of good quality. the edges aren't ragged. it's professionally done but most of all i feel like a lot of love and hope went into the creation of this deck. i think that's what sets this deck apart for me. i like the $65 size i bought. i believe it was jewel who wanted the bigger size but i think that would be bigger than i want.
next on my list is the artist's inner vision, the illuminated and the simple tarot. something about these self-published decks that feel different from the store bought ones. right now i'm more fascinated in these than store bought decks.

Figured that I would resurrect this thread rather than start a new one. I just received my large size Portal tarot deck, which was meticulously and lovingly put together by dajax and her partner. I have nothing but praise for it, from the moment I slipped it out of its hand made velvet bag. The Fool sits now before me and invites me in.. Time to meditate and start a new jounal!!!

You are so lucky to have them in the big size. I have the Temperance card in large size and it's lovely. I'm glad you are pleased with it after our recommendations.

Hello All,
I just wanted to let any interested know that the Portals will be taken out of production by January 31st, for a two- three month hiatus. The special price we are offering will also be discontinued January 31st.
If you want to lock in a deck at the sale price, we do offer lay-a-way. Please email me off-list or PM me, for information.
We want to thank everyone for their support of our deck! It has made a wonderful experience, all the more magical, knowing that our deck has been so well received. We can't express enough, our gratitude. A special thanks to those Aeclectic Members who have so openly supported this deck! and Solandia for her review! Your feedback has kept me inspired to keep doing my best.
For those interested, I'm taking it out of production so that I can focus on other interests, including the Minors. Nothing dire.
