Jeanette, I couldn't find a description page for this deck at your site. Do you have it in stock currently? Is it still in print?

We have it in stock; it's not in the database because we just received it on Thursday. It's just been released for North American distribution. Even though we don't have it "officially" posted on the website yet, I'll make the same offer here that I made to the members of the Comparative Tarot board: a 10% discount on the "Roots of Asia" deck to anyone who mentions the Aeclectic forums when e-mailing their order. (The regular price is $20 USD).
A percentage of Tarot Garden sales, when generated through the Aeclectic website, goes back to support the Aeclectic forums. Make sure that you mention that you found the information on Aeclectic whenever you place an order with us.

jeanette,
when i loaded your link and saw the cards, the colors look a bit off, like there is too much yellow/orange in them.
compared to the link i provided to tarotworld, the ones there look way more natural.
how DO they look in real?

When I bring the cards up on my screen, it looks like a pretty good match to me -- but I have my monitor set to display "millions of colors." Perhaps that makes a difference.
I checked out the scans at Tarotworld, and in my estimation, the scans shown there appear "washed out" compared to the colors of the actual cards -- although that could be accounted for, I suppose, by differences in print runs, or as a normal result of reducing the digital images of the cards down that far (the samples at the link given previously should more-or-less show at actual card size).
In any case, the copy of the Roots of Asia tarot that I have is definitely dominated by strong yellows and oranges, with frequent midnight-blue backagrounds as shown in the scans at the link provided earlier.
But I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a particularly "sensitive" eye to artistic details -- that's why I love this stuff so much. I could never create things that beautiful myself, so I content myself with enjoying the pearls resulting from the labors of talented others...

maybe too much to ask for, but would you be so kind and scan exactly the same cards that tarotworld has on the page? then i could compare.....

Okie-dokey... here ya go:
http://www.tarotgarden.com/special/rootsofasiacards2.gif
In trying to reexamine the cards with a more "critical" eye, I'm finding that the degree of "vividness" in the colors seems to depend on a number of factors. For example, the colors seem more vivid to me when viewed under dim light, and less so when viewed under bright light -- which would be inverse to what I would expect, but what do I know? Knowing that mixing my three-year-old's red fingerpaint with her blue fingerpaint will make purple paint is about the extent of my understanding of the science of color -- LOL!
Anyway, when I tried to re-compare the cards to the screen, the "exactness" of the match, as I perceived it, varied depending on various factors, such as lighting, backlighting, angle, etc. But I'd still have to go with my original assessment -- that the scans I posted originally are a pretty close match, albeit probably not an exact one.

jeanette,
thanks very much, i think you are right, i now recognise what they did to those scans and that takes of some of what's there. like when you compare the star card, in yours you see the "particles" in red, blues and white in the sky. if you look at the star card on the tarotworldpage, these particles are more blurred with the surroundings. that takes of some of the vividness and expression of the cards, they indeed look flatter on tarotworld if you compare.
are you gonna leave this link up? then i will remove the one to tarotworld, as it doesn't give a good impression.

Yeah, once I upload something to our website, I rarely take it down again. The minute I clear anything off, that's when someone else write to ask about it. That's probably some sort of collary to Murphy's Law, eh?

The publisher is AGMuller. I find this deck to have a very spiritual feel, it is a beautiful deck.

I also got this deck in my collection and at first it did not "click" with me as it is more of a meditation deck than a reading deck IMO but then I tried out a reading with the Petersen deck which is similar in artwork to the Roots of Asia and I got a great reading from it so I decided to give the Roots also a try.
