75% off decks at the Barnes and Noble here

There was a 75% off section near the front registers here at my B&N. And a handful of decks were included, bought Gavin some children books and stuffed animals ranging from $1.25 - $2.00. But what I am really happy about are the decks that I got for SO CHEAP.

Medieval Scapini - Originally $20 Bought it for $5
Thoth (Large) - Originally $20 Bought it for $5
Hanson-Roberts Originally $16 Bought it for $4

Actually the Thoth had a price sticker of $18, so it didn't ring up right, but I noticed it until after we got home. But the difference isn't a big deal at all.

Anyhow, these decks were SO CHEAP!!!! Wohoo!!! The clerk told me to come back periodically 'cause as things empty out, they'll add more decks.... can't wait!!!

The Scapini deck is so beautiful!! The Thoth is weird but cool. And the Hanson is very nice deck also... I'm liking all of them.

I just LOVE bargains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't there something left for me? ... :(
PLease Faerie Lin!!! It's your dearest friend Pollux aka WEASEL asking! :(
*BTW, if they are THAT cheap, I will consider paying! ;) LOL*

What luck! What timing! :D
I always check the sale areas at both Borders and Barnes & Noble to see if they have any decks or tarot books. I never seem to get lucky.

I wonder when Barnes and Noble, Borders and all the other chain bookshops and the rest of it will open a da@n branch in Naples. Will there eventually be such a day?

*weeps*

The only deck I have ever been lucky enough to get on a sale like that is my Universal Waite set. That was at "Media Play".
The other day I was in Barnes and Nobel and to my surprise there was an "Aquarian Tarot" set marked 50% off. But that was the only sale deck I found. I had no money that day. But that was o.k. because I don't feel drawn to the aquarian deck anyhow (I do want the new pallidini though!). I Rarely see sales on tarot decks. Though I live really close to Barnes and Nobel, Borders , And Media Play ! Between all 3 you can see quite a selection of decks and books! Still , many times amazon.com has a better selection And better prices. They have a lot of sale books at these stores , but very rare to find a tarot deck on sale.

Yes, sniffs loudly, the only place that sells decks around here is the occult shop and they have precisely one sale day a year!

Pollux, maybe you can send them an E mail and request they open a store there! I haven't even a clue if they are international.
I know my DREAM is to visit Alida store though! sigh! :) ;) ! Be nice to have at least a few hundred dollars with me too!

My Barnes and Noble only had the Baseball Tarot and the LOTR Tarot on sale... *sniffles* They didn't even have the two decks I wanted (The Ancient Egyptian by Barrett and the Ancestral Path by Julie something or another) I had to goto Amazon and order them.

barnes and noble is like a ninety minute drive for me but i managed to get there wednesday. the only deck they had was the baseball tarot. i bought it tho b/c hubby is a real baseball freak. it's the only way we can talk about tarot and baseball at the same time. the cards are richly colored. i actually like it. my goal is to get hubby to start reading w/ them eventually. i also have tarot of baseball which is more cartoonish. he can almost read that one just w/ baseball knowledge. at least it gives me a way to interest him slightly in tarot! LOL he thinks its a strange gift but he appreciates my attempts to connect and he humors me. ;)

I asked at our Barnes & Noble today about tarot decks being marked down or going on sale & he said they'd never done that at his store the entire time he's been there (several years). I wonder if we don't have it in this region....I'm in the Midwest.

I checked one of my local Barnes and Noble stores today, and didn't see any tarot decks marked down. LOTR deck was on the shelf behind the counter, for the regular price as near as I could tell. I did find a cool book of Celtic tales by W.B. Yeats for about $1.50, so it wasn't a total waste of time. ;)

Wow, I guess I just really lucked out. I guess my city isn't so bad after all, I'm always talking about how this city is so "ew!"

The next day we went to another barnes and noble, they didn't have all the same decks on sale... but they did have Aquarian and Hanson-Roberts both with Books. (Didn't know Aquarian had a book.) I would have gotten those ones with books if I had known.

The first barnes and noble we went to, we went to again. (Hubby was calling me greedy for wanting to go again! He just doesn't understand the power of 75% off!!!) And we got the LOTR for $4.00. I may give this as a gift. Also they had the art of tarot which I snatched up at $2.50 and am loving this deck.

I MAY go back and get the Tarot of the Witches. Still kinda debating on that deck. Just to have in my collection.

Well, it's not Barnes & Noble, but this site does have decks cheaper than full price--have you seen this site?

http://www.tarotcardtrader.com/marketplace.html

Free shipping too, which is nice. I didn't see a deck I wanted in this batch, but he says that stock changes all the time. They have a 'marketplace' also.

Faerie Lin  15 Jul 2002
Great find Hudson!!!!!

In 2 weeks I'm going to TRY to get the Osho Zen, Haindl or Rohrig from that site! Thankyou!!!! Cheap prices!!
