since you guys have done such a great job in the past changing my mind about decks, i need your help again.
everything i read about the pythagorean tarot(PT) made me really want it. i liked the scans of the cards. but when i got it...YUCK!!!!! i don't understand what i saw in it. i had the alchemical also ordered but when i saw PT i cancelled the order. i'm not sure what it is i don't like. the images are inoffensive. i think it's the simple pen ink and colored drawings. i tend to be drawn to more intense decks most often. i got the templar the same day and was just blown away by it's intensity!! i also got tarot of the sphynx and mage the ascension decks. i knew i'd like sphynx b/c it's the mirror reversal of my beloved neferteri. the mage reminds me of my vertigo deck which is a fav. i love these decks but they seem in a different place than PT. i react to them emotionally. i feel nothing when i see PT.
i thought if i could understand where the PT is coming from it would help me. some of the things that drew me was the use of greek/roman mythology and symbolosim. what i've skimmed thru the book is interesting.
so what do you do when you have a deck that you find intellectually interesting but don't like the cards? i feel the same about the sacred circle. i don't like the cards but i like the book so i keep it in hope the cards will appeal to me eventually.
perhaps my the emotion charged 2 planets each in pisces and scorpio that draw me to emotioanally evocative decks. i have 4 planets in aquarius and that draws me to more intellectually stimulating decks. what an inner paradox!

My boyf bought this one for me as a Valentine's Day gift... I had lusted after it for ages, but it wasn't cheap: £37! I can't read with it, but it is certainly one for any collector: The new ordering of the Majors is something worth studing, and the symbolism in each of the Majors is stunning! The artwork is quite pretty too: Very simple, yet detailed... The book: WOW! is all I can say...
I wrote a review for this deck which is up on the Aeclectic website... The review shows what I think of the deck...

thanks kiama. i read the review-that's what encouraged me to give the deck a chance. it's definitely an intellectual deck not an emotive deck like i prefer. the way the majors are reordered was one of the turn-offs but if you say it's worth studying then i know that it is! :)
