I currently have the Shapeshifter Tarot, and though the pictures are beautiful, it can be really hard to figure out what they mean.. I've tried meditating, using the book, staring blankly at the cards and wishing there was an easier way to do this, but nothing works. (Though the last one wasn't really expected to.)
Does anyone have a certain method of figuring out what the cards in their deck means?
Thanks!

Welcome Kawaiifireball!
Any deck that gives you that much trouble perhaps should be set aside for a while to ferment in your unconcious. You have put a lot of effort into understanding them, and it will likely pay off eventually. Do you have any other decks? Perhaps work with another deck for a while and let the knowledge of the Shapeshifter percolate through your mind for a while.

I'm with Marion, Kawaiifireball. You've put alot of energy and time into this deck and you may want to set it aside for a while and use a different deck. Are you a Tarot Beginner? If so, there are numerous posts on this forum with suggestions for books and decks suitable for a newbie (which I still consider myself to be).

One of the main rules I have discovered reading with shapie is not to let it entimidate you. Just see what is there and make your story, dont worry about books or other decks - become friend with your imagination and intuition and believe in your self :)

I think the Shapeshifter is no beginner's deck.
It is a deck that works well for intuitive readers who do not cling too much to books. It is very helpful when you have a feeling for Celtic stuff and/or animals but that is just IMO.

Bec uses this deck as her primary deck and her results are excellent! Follow her guidance, she is our "Shapie" expert!

I find this deck often works well for me, it makes it easier for me to connect the cards into one whole which is sometimes a problem with other decks...
I find the court cards the most difficult in this deck, they're so different from the 'ordinary' I still get confused by them...
I sometimes use the book, but most pictures speak for itself.
However, I only started reading with it when I felt I was ready or the deck was ready, which ever way you want to look at it.
I agree you have to use your own intuition but I still like the book, sometimes you just want to know what symbols are used in the cards (they're full of them) and also the meaning I always find uplifting, it looks at your possibilities a lot.
Hope this helps...
