Vision Quest or Quester...or both

I've been contemplating buying a deck with a native American theme...I like the Quester (by Patricia Beattie), the artwork looks great but it looks like it's not so easy to read with (but this has never stopped me from buying a deck before), the Vision Quest seems to be closer to the traditional tarot. Anyone has one (or both) decks and how do you like it ?

If you are interested in a Tarot deck with native American influence, you may also want to consider the Native American Tarot.

Thanks, jmd, I remember seeing it before but I prefer the Quester or Vision Quest because of the better (well, for me that is) artwork. I've also seen a deck that shows utensils, weapons etc of native Americans but that does not appeal to me at all. I wonder if anyone uses the Quester, I haven't seen much of it (could be out of print as well)

i believe the VQ is OOP. i love mine. it's done in soft pastels. when i need a deck for a gentle reading, this one is at the top of my list. i saw a copy of it up for auction last night at ebay. i highly recommend getting it! i really don't like the native american deck. there are a few cards that make it feel too influenced by cowboys. i've heard a lot of good things about the quester even tho i don't have it. i think catlin has it but she's on vacation right now.

Thanks Lee that's very helpful. I saw a Quester deck for sale at ebay and the seller claimed it to be oop, but I know sellers will sometimes say anything to make the price go up... I'm glad now I did not get it at ebay, it was more expensive than a new deck from Amazon ! There are also not many European shops selling the deck, I guess the theme is not that popular here.

WolfSpirit, I have both Vision Quest Tarot and Questor. The Vision Quest deck follows the traditional tarot meanings much closer than Questor. On the other hand, I believe Questor is much more true to the native American beliefs and traditions. I like the artwork on both decks. The Vision Quest deck is smaller and easier for my small hands to shuffle. Overall, I like both decks and I would have a hard time if I had to choose one or the other. I don't know if either one is out of print or not.

The Quester is high on my wishlist, VQ was one of my first decks I bought ages ago but I never used it for readings as I hate the used look it would have aquired. Guess you'll end up with both decks!

I KNOW I will end up with both and love it ! The Vision Quest looks easier to interpret and gentler. From the reviews I understand more pple have difficulty reading with the Quester but there is certainly no argument on the artwork of that one...I especially love the death card where the spirit leaves the body.

I found a copy of the deck at Amazon marktetplace where people can sell their stuff through Amazon. It will take a while before it's here though...
